People do that here too, its called gatecrashing (Turning up to an event uninvited), if you get lucky then you get free food, free drinks and lots of loved up girls to talk to (because they are at a wedding)

Reminds me of that guy who went to the wedding of his cousin and they couldn't find their grandma anywhere in the ceremony because the old woman stopped by at the wrong wedding.
Probably should have tipped her off that her granddaughter was marrying another woman, so when she came to a ceremony with a guy and a girl it was probably a good clue.
