[QUOTE]The Syrian Army says Israeli military jets hit a “military target” near Palmyra in a raid overnight. In retaliation the jets were targeted by Syrian anti-aircraft missiles.According to a Syrian Army statement, a total of four Israeli jets breached Syrian airspace on Friday morning, Reuters reports. Syria's air defenses shot down one of the Israeli jets over "occupied ground" and damaged another. The Israeli Army confirmed it had conducted airstrikes on several targets in Syria, Israel National News reported. However, the IDF insists that none of the jets was harmed."At no point was the safety of Israeli civilians or the IAF [Israeli Air Force] aircraft compromised," an Israeli military spokesman said.Following the breach of the country's airspace, the Syrian Army warned Israel of "direct" retaliation "with all means at its disposal,"Haaretz reports.Earlier, a spokesperson of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) told Sputnik that Israeli military jets were targeted by anti-aircraft missiles after they struck several targets in Syria. After Israeli Air Force planes struck several targets in Syria on Thursday night, Damascus retaliated by activating its air defense systems and firing a number of missiles at Israeli jets, according to Haaretz.[/QUOTE]

The israelis just don't when to fucking quit do they?Well next time they try to shit like that they are going to get a little "welcoming party",this was a warning shot, let's hope they heed to the warning and back off because they have no right to go and bomb Syria.Nobody asked them.
Lol. "Don't have a right"?
They do this all the time and have every right to pre-empt a dangerous and very violent neighbour. Syria is also in no state to organise a "welcoming arty" as you put it. Israeli military capability decisively outclasses Syria's, they don't just fly in blind.

Are you in the Syrian Government or something?
I'm so confused by this passage.
No i don't work for the Syrian Government.
Well if Syria doesn't want them there then they probably shouldn't fly there. Russia probably provides Syria with neat AA
Why bother though
[editline]17th March 2017[/editline]
Found out why they bother
Syria has been being a cocky little spunk towel for a while

Yeah sure, Syria managed to down a jet and injure another. And the Israelis are all lying about it.
What probably actually happened was Israel's new Arrow missile interception system was used for the first time to stop the SAMs shot at the jets.
I'm more curious about what the IDF was bombing and why. If it's more Hezbollah weapons shipments - good. But if it's actually the Syrian army, I wonder what the reason would have been.

They've provided the Syrians with Pantsir-S1's(some are newer versions) and they've got brand new S-300's.The Russians are training them on these systems obviously.

I don't doubt Syria lying about downing the aircraft. They've claimed to have down an F-15 with a MiG-25 during the 80s so it's not that surprising. Syria and Saddam regime Iraq have had a history of lying about air kills and loses.
Saying that the strike was repelled by Syrian AA is just lying. The mission was carried out and Israel actually got a little bit more out of the mission than was expected since from my understanding, Arrow 3 missiles aren't designed to handle AA. Also, this is pushing back stories about how Israel is losing air superiority against Syria since the Syrians have the new Russian AA.
Also, this is not illegal. The Syrians and the Israelis are still at war officially, they just stopped fighting. Besides, the weapons that were attacked were most likely missiles going to Hezbollah, Israel was justified in destroying them.

israel apparently shot down their missile to shoot down their planes, so checkmate.
Remind Syria of the Six Day War, Yom Kippur War and their attempt at SAM systems in Lebanon.
