Police have issued an appeal for information about why a chicken was seen crossing the road in Dundee.
Officers were called to East Marketgait in the city at 08:30 after reports of the bird "giving passing motorists cause for concern".
The chicken was traced by officers and taken to a police station, with the SSPCA brought in to care for it.
Social media reports suggested up to three uniformed officers were seen "chasing" the chicken.
have they figured out why the suspect tried to cross the road
glad the chicken is safe tho
It just wanted to get to the other side
Reminds me of the IOW where I lived. Riot police were called to the island a few years ago to take care of an "out of control" swan who didn't want to return to the river down the road and instead just walked around the highstreet. You couldn't fucking make it up.
More jaywalking scumbags in custody
I heard the bird was sighted flashing a butter knife.
Cops wouldn't have been called if it was a white chicken. Smh.
As someone living in Dundee, I saw that come up on Facebook. I've seen weirder things walking around.
