Did anyone see this movie?
I just got back from it and feel very violated for the third act. The first two acts were cool, but the movie left me with a very disgusting and sick feeling in my mouth. I don't give a shit about all this "science" everyone thinks this movie has - it has as much science as Elfen Lied as far as I'm concerned. Oh, about Elfen Lied; this movie is essentially that.
It starts good, with good premise, effects and acting....but slowly declines into a WTF-fest and a climax that goes like it was written by a weird furry who browses 4Chan frequently.

Yeah, I saw it. It was pretty cool for what was essentially a modern-day Frankenstein.
And the ending was just... bizzare. Hopefully the possible sequel won't turn out like The Fly 2.

They probably could have ended it by [sp]Dren about to rape her, but he stabs him/her/it with the stick before it does...whatever to the girl. THEN Dren could have stabbed him, leaving both the man and Dren to die in the snow.[/sp]

Additionally, about the ending:

Isn't that the movie about the creature that was jumping around like predator as a baby? I saw a commercial for it, and I was actually somewhat interested.
So it's a complete rip off of species with a couple of scientists instead of a group of scientists?

The movie was alright
All the reviews say its exactly the same as Species except worse with more bi-sexual rape.
I will say this though: the effects are awesome.
Yeah, the whole rape scene(s) were not needed, they just wanted to do that for a bastard sequel that's probably already in the making. The effects were indeed awesome, but it doesn't make up for the fact that me and my friends were WTFing through the whole thing.
This movie is pure awesomeness. If you have not seen David Cronenberg's finest movies(The Fly, Videodrome, Scanners, The Brood, etc) you probably aren't ready to understand where this movie is coming from. This movie is clearly influenced by his work.
Species shares a basic similarity, very basic. It's like saying ET and The Thing are the same story.

Me, I've learned to not expect much from movies. If it holds my interest for a decent portion of the film, I'll be happy with it.
