That was really cool and I respect the effort and all, but I actually screamed the first time Sonic opened his mouth. I mean I really don't want to be that guy who complains all the time about something, but oh my god, Sonic's mouth was just terrifying.

Oh my god the special effects for sonic look so bad, I am laughing my ass off.
The special effects were pretty bad. Starting from the CGI all the way down to the muzzle flares.

I wish they put more effort on Sonic himself, he looks really underwhelming and low quality compared to the rest of the stuff in the movie.

I could only make it up to the 6:30 mark, They tried to make it cinematic but for gods sake people this is SONIC we're talking about.
and the "epic" music... it just made it look more that what it was, just a fanmade short

Lower your standards a bit, it's only a fan film.
I actually like that it took the "serious" and "cinematic" approach. I mean I would had liked something lighthearted and truer to the games too but I just love things that take "ridiculous premise on a gritty serious atmosphere" (eg. Barkley Shut Up and Jam Gaiden) approach, especially if done well. It adds that certain ironic comedy effect and at the same time seriously engaging since you manage to forget the silly premise and start going about it dramatically. Even though this one is more of a mixed bag, I was still entertained nonetheless.

The problem is that the fan film is trying to make a realistic Sonic film when it should be an animated film so it can fit the style.
FYI the guy who voiced Sonic is Jaleel White, they guy who originally voiced Sonic in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Underground
