Bernard Cornwell is an English writer currently living in the United States. The majority of his books are historical-fiction novels, including his best selling series "Sharpe" which also has it's own TV show.

If you have not yet read any of his novels I suggest you start because they are amazing. I am currently reading the Sharpe series which is about a rifleman in the 1800's who fights through India, Spain, Portugal, and many other places. He fights through many historical battles such as the Battle of Assaye with General Arthur Wellesly. List of Sharpe books in chronological order:
1) Sharpe's Tiger
2) Sharpe's Triumph
3) Sharpe's Fortress
4) Sharpe's Trafalgar
5) Sharpe's Prey
6) Sharpe's Rifles
7) Sharpe's Havoc
8) Sharpe's Eagle
9) Sharpe's Gold
10) Sharpe's Escape
11) Sharpe's Fury
12) Sharpe's Battle
13) Sharpe's Company
14) Sharpe's Sword
15) Sharpe's Enemy
16) Sharpe's Honour
17) Sharpe's Regiment
18) Sharpe's Siege
19) Sharpe's Revenge
20) Sharpe's Waterloo

If you like a more medieval approach in your novels I suggest you try either "The Arthur Books" which takes a historical spin on the classic King Arthur myths, or you could try "The Saxon Stories" which takes you through the viking invasion of Britannia against the Saxons. Both series are wonderful and both are personally my favorite series of books.

He also has books regarding the 100 years ware between France and England. One obviously titled "Agincourt" is about an longbowman in that particular battle. And another series titled "The Grail Quest" which is also about an archer, I'll be honest though, I didn't enjoy these books as much as the others but if this is your kind of thing than by all means check them out on his website.
Don't forget to check out his website http://www.bernardcornwell.net which has a list of all his books as well as up coming books. You can also ask him question in the "Your Question" section which he will answer in a week or two.
So let's get reading Facepunch!
Those books sound cool, I've heard about them on a forum for Empire: Total war game, I may buy them in the future if I have some spare cash and won't forget about them.
Edit: It seems a lot of book stores in my country have the one about the longbowman but nothing else, too bad, I was more interested in the Sharp series than the longbowman thing.
What order do you recommend reading the Sharp series books in? Chronological order? Because from the little I've read, they weren't written in chronological order.

Depending on where you're from there are most likely online services such as Amazon where you can buy the books. And no they where not written in order but the list I posted is in the order they are meant to be read in starting from the begging of his career.
I might check those books out, seems like they would be good.

All of them are on Amazon but shipment is pricey is fuck. I would order a bunch of them all at once but I don't know if I'll even like them. I guess I'll just order the first book and when I'm finished, order the rest of the books about the Indian campaign, and if I'm still interested after all of these, I'll buy half of the Napoleonic wars books and then the other half and so on.
BTW, how many pages are in each book?
Seriously get those books. I think I've read them all about twice, and I can say they are real page turners with everything you want in a historical fiction. The battles are really tense and well described, and the characters well thought out and balanced.
And the book people are doing a great offer, the first twelve of the Sharpe series for £12.99. Great deal.

sean bean looks like snake
fact
And BurnEmDown, I recommend reading them in chronological order. They weren't written like that, and he only wrote the prequels after he was asked to write Sharpe's Rifles for the (unfortunately crappy) TV Film series. Average book length is about 350-450 pages, and you soon fly through them.

Looks like a really good price for those 12 books, but it'll cost me an extra 13 euro or pound or whatever this symbol is: £ for delivery (because I don't live in the UK or nearby Islands).
The price is still quite good for 12 books, but I just don't know if I'll like them. If there was some way for me to get the first book for under 10 euros, I'd gladly get it, and then if I liked it I would buy all those books even though I get the first one again, I'll just give the new one as a gift to a friend who might like it.
Edit: Nevermind, I saw "international BFPO" and immediately thought it just meant international blablabla, but apparently the BFPO stands for British Forces Post Office, and I really doubt we have one here in Israel. Do you think you could find an online bookstore that ships to Israel for an average price? If I like the first book enough to buy the others, I'd be willing to pay 250 NIS, which is 70$ or 55 euros or 45 pounds.
2nd Edit: I'd order the first one from Amazon.com but It'd take like a month and a half for it to arrive and I'm gonna get enlisted to the army in two months... Plus I ordered all Scott Pilgrim books and they'll arrive on February 14th, so maybe I'll order it by the end of the month, depending on how much I work until then, then It should arrive about a week before I get enlisted and it'll be like an enlistment gift or something for myself.

other way around.
Sharpe is fucking awesome as is the TV series. I creamed my pants when they announced new episodes.
Should I maybe just settle with Agincourt for now, buy it here before I enlist, and if I really like it, order a bunch of Sharp series' books in the future?
Edit: It's only 48 NIS which are 13 bucks, 10 euros, or 8.5 pounds.
Yeah, I'll definitely buy it in a few days, unless you guys say it's awful and a waste of money or something, but the OP suggests otherwise.
The only ones i've read so far are the first 3 in the arthur series and Agincourt.
Cant recommend this guys work enough.
The Starbuck Chronicles are really good to
http://www.bernardcornwell.net/index2.cfm?page=1&seriesid=2
I have not read the Starbuck Chronicles yet and I have yet to finish off Sharpe, but I would say without a doubt that the Arthur Books and the Saxon Stories are the best books I've ever read. The Arthur Books has only 3 in the series but the Saxon Stories has 5 and counting. Hoping to see then next book released later this year.
