A grieving woman was so devastated by her husband’s death that she couldn’t bear to report it – and slept next to his corpse for almost a year.
The mummified remains of Marcel H, 79, lay undiscovered in a Brussels apartment.
It’s thought that he died of an asthma attack in November last year, but his beloved 69-year-old wife, who hasn’t been named, continued to sleep next to the grisly remains, despite the smell of decomposition.

This is not the first time I have made a discovery of this kind, I've been faced with two or three other occasions where people have continued to sleep with the corpse of their partner.
what the fuck
Those images are nightmarish.

I've seen worse on r/MorbidReality
I really can't understand how they put up with the smell. I mean, like we had a dead rat in our basement for about a week, and it smelled so bad we literally took apart our furnace to find it (We thought it was a bird in the chimney at the time).
I have no idea how they could live with a full person, beside them, for a year.
Fuck me, why did I choose to click that link right before trying to sleep?

The fuck was I expecting to see?
I knew some people were hit pretty hard by death, but this shit is something else
look at his face, how does she even tolerate sleeping next to him instead of arranging a funeral
Christ, the look on his face is nightmarish. Decomposition aside, he looks like he died gasping for air, which easily connects to the Asthma attack that they said caused his death. The fact that she slept next to a rotting corpse with that facial expression...that death must've really shaken her sense of judgement. How much grief could you have for somebody that you'd be willing to sleep next to them looking like that for a year, dead?
Why did I read this just before going to bed?
I'm never sleeping again.
Jesus Christ..
I know it's hard but you have to let go..
Maybe she is just a necrophiliac?
Rocking a sick mustache, little skinny though.
a rose for Emily
Ugh. I read a story about something very, very similar to this a very, very long time ago. I can't remember what it was called, but it was about a wife whose husband passed away and she slept with his corpse for years and years until someone discovered it after snooping in her home. Anyone know the story I'm thinking of?
‘This liquid would have spread and the bed would have been swarming with insects as the body rotted, this would have been a real shame.
wow...

A Rose for Emily.
Edit:
FUCK.
;42932736']wow...
This would have been a real shame
yeah understatement I think
I think the worst part is that his insides would have liquefied and probably slowly seeped out of his anus, since it relaxes when you die. I don't quite understand how she could possibly be okay with that sight, and that smell, every night of every day for a year.
grief is a hell of a drug
;42932703']Maybe she is just a necrophiliac?
I'd have thought he'd be a little stiff for that.
She was driven crazy by grief. And wow he looks like a draugr
That's sweet but disturbing... True love.
Kind of reminds me of Phsycho
That's seriously unsettling.
It's strange and disturbing for us, but that just shows how much she loved the guy. And it's no surprise given how long they were together.
