Hello German Facepunchers I need some suggestions.
Im going to Germany for the 2nd time in mid August and I need some suggestions on what to do while there.
The area I'll be in is Garmisch which is really close to Austria and is pretty much in the Alps.
The farthest I'm willing to go away from my hotel is about 1 hour away.
I really love the area and while driving through Germany on the Autobhan (FUCK YEA) I really fell in love with the scenery so maybe some sight seeing.
Places I've already been to:
Zugspitze (spelling?)
Neuschwanstein Castle
The actual town of Garmisch (fucking beautiful)
I have 7 days there and I'm driving from England. Ill be passing through France, Belgium and Austria on the way to my hotel so I might have time (at the most 2 hours) to do something in those countries.
btw try and keep it cheap. I'm American and converting to Euros is a bitch. the Military hotel im going to is really nice though http://www.edelweisslodgeandresort.com/home.html
also I thought this was beautiful
-view from Zugspitze
So what i would like to know is:
Places to see
Culture to experience (might go to some kind of clog dancing or something)
should I go see beer being made by monks!?!?!?!?!??
Food to try (had your brautwurst, amazing and some kind of funnel cake/doughnut, name please?)
anything pretty much that will blow my mind. your amazing country already has one time before.
some pictures if you are reading this and interested in going yourself

[sp] I dont consider this a "choose for me" thread because I am honestly baffled. so much to do but I dont know what I should see or do at the same time. plus I would like input from Germans in the area or have been to it or anybody who has heard/been to regardless of nationality[/sp]
Germany is so awesome, first place I would go if I traveled to Europe along with Scandinavian countries.
I have never been there, it looks very beautiful though
And I hear the people are awesome, and nice.
Don't go, the nazis will get you!:downs:

1x dumb
It's a lovely place, if you have the time or are willing to go out a bit further, do visit the Black Forest. It's just...wow.
And I hear the people are awesome, and nice.
they are. my family doesnt know ANY german and they were all so nice to us because we didnt know what they were talking about. even the kids. i was honestly expecting them to act like chavvy British kids but they are all nice and polite from my experience
And I got my Grandfather clock made from wood from the Black Forest
GREAT IDEA why didnt I think of that! I'll put it on my list
I've never heard of clog dancing here in Germany, only in Holland. But then again i'm a very silly person from up north.
Protip: Don't mention The War.
All I know about Germany is that I LOVE their Strudel

With LOTS of cream!
BTW, see if you can visit the Nordschleife circuit, that has to be the most badass place in Germany to go :q:

the next one to your hotel is Dachau. Do not go to the one in Ulm because that isn't a "real" one.
If your into cars or architecture I would suggest going to the BWM World in Munich.
or the Porsche and Mercedes Benz Museums in Stuttgart

What's Strudel like anyway?
Strudel is great, its basically like Pancakes except even tastier.
It's pastry/cake filled with apple sauce. Mostly it's served hot. It's tastes pretty good.
must.. find.... STRUDEL
great. more food ill have to try
I had Bravarian White Sausage.... i thought that was really nasty just because how slimy it was. good though except for the texture.
German Pretzles are the best btw
Why only an hour away from your hotel??? Go for a nice day long hike in the mountains dude.
German Bretzels are so goddamn good.
I've also been to Garmisch It really is beautiful! Stayed there for a couple days

I waited for a bus right there! Awesome!
I went there by motorbike to the BMW bike festival last time it was on in summer. Was amazing.
When are you coming to england? We should meet up.
