Justin Bieber has been beaten to the UK's official Christmas number one spot by the NHS Choir after he urged his fans to back their charity single. The Lewisham and Greenwich choir said they were "absolutely overwhelmed" that their song, A Bridge Over You, had pipped Bieber's track, Love Yourself. Speaking to Sky News, moments after hearing the news, one of the choir said: "It's a amazing, absolutely amazing - we got to number 1.
http://news.sky.com/story/1612234/bieber-beaten-by-nhs-choir-to-christmas-no-1
Christmas music is such a crock of shit.
Nice that Bieber urged his fans to support the charity single over his own song. Not generally a fan of his but kudos for that.
His new releases are alright
Agreed. They're just not Christmasy though.
I'm glad it wasn't some X Factor bullshit.
It was kinda interesting Bieber's songs held 1 + 2 on the charts the week before. I don't even think the charity record was even in the charts (at least not top 20) before Bieber tweeted about it. It was nice to see Stormzy reach top 10 (he peaked at 8 the week before), considering it wasn't signed to a label. Plus Functions On The Low is a great grime instrumental.
