What movie would make for the ideal video game?
And why?
None of them are really that good. Although I wouldn't mind an I am Legend video game.
Movies never make good video games. (Most of the time)
most of the time the game dies with the movie but a war of the worls game would be ok
james bond is pretty much the only game that can be good.
And the Hulk, the one made a while ago for the gamecube and such. The one based off the bad reviewed Hulk movie.
Some movie universes make great games like LOTR or star wars, but the games based off the specific plots of the movies themselves don't tend to be so good
Harry Potter were also great fun!
Most good movie games are released quite a while after the movie is (Ghostbusters for example).
I always wanted a 28 Days/Weeks later videogame.
And then Left 4 Dead came out.

So you were dissapointed?
And I think alot of actions movies could be made into good games, they just never are. :saddowns:
Max Payne Series, FEAR, Mass Effect 1/2.
Hey, don't mind the exact same (and better) thread on the front page.

Now, I didn't much care for the movie, but honestly, an I Am Legend game, if pulled off right, would make a rather immersive game, especially in the first person perspective. I second this.

You mean exact opposite?
Max Payne Series, FEAR, Mass Effect 1/2.
You've got it the wrong way around. OP meant movies into video games, not video games into movies.
I think it would be hard to make a good video game based on a movie because movies are just so short. Only way to make good video games based on movies is if the movie has its own universe (LOTR, Star Wars, Star Trek)
Though the Chronicles of Riddick games were pretty kick ass.

Oh well. I'm surprised I don't have a library to read through yet.
A fucking full fledged high budget Jurassic park game.
The Book of Eli
Wait a minute....

What I'm wondering is why they made the Prince of Persia movie into a video game, when it was a movie based off a video game, in the first place.

I am alive is a game with a story pretty much based on I am Legend.
Though it's not released yet, it really looks like the movie (evolving in a giant destroyed city, etc)

Damn now I gotta see that movie.
Also, 'bout the prince of persia movie made into a game, there already was a similar case, with Street Fighter : the movie : the game. They even managed to make a fighting game reference one of the shittiest fighting game ever.

[sp]book of eli has nothing really in common with fallout 3 other than that it's post-apoc.[/sp]
prince of persia was first a video game, the video game that's based off of the movie is an intermission between sands of time and warrior within.
and did you just call street fighter a shitty fighting game?
All fighting games are shitty, IMO. You just stand there and mash buttons.
There needs to be a game based on The Expendables. There probably will be when it comes out, though.
One based in the 28 Days Later or I am Legend universe, but not centered on the movie plot.

I have seen The Book of Eli, other then some generic post apocalyptic scenery used in every Post Apocalyptic Project, (be it movie of video game) they are nothing alike.
Personally, a War of the Worlds game would be awesome if done right. I could see I Am Legend being a FPS or over-the shoulder TPS.
I wanted a 28 Days game, too, and then L4D came out, like that one guy said. I was all hyped.
Then I was disappointed. I never really liked L4D nor could I ever get into the game.

I called the game based on the movie based on the game a shitty game.
Yes, Left 4 Dead couldn't have been more disappointing.
I was expecting a game with an actual plot and shit like that.
Seriously, a game in the 28 Days Later universe would be amazing.
I mean look:

In my opinion it could work as a sandbox FPS, with certain RPG elements.
