Now I know this is late and all since it was cut off a while back but I think this epic T.V show deserves a memorial and some explanations on why this show was ended.
Now for you guys that don't know about this show Arrested Development is an American T.V show that aired from November 03 to Febuary 06. The story follows the bluth family, a formely rich, dysfunctional family and is set in the Mockumentory fashion with naration and hand-held camera filming. Ron Howard, an exectutive producer, does the voice overs.
Bluth Family:

The series earned six Emmy awards, one Golden Globe, critical acclaim and attracted a many lovers, including several fan-based websites.
Now i'm not going to go to far into this because i would just like to know WHY this show didn't climb the ratings ladders seeming it was so highly praised, and also if there are any other Arrested Development lovers out there
There is also a movie coming out around 2011.
Can't wait :ohdear:
Pretty much because the show was too smart for the general audience who needs a laugh track to tell them when a show is funny. sad really, the show was brilliant. I still watch it regularly and it never gets old.
Low ratings because of what lambadvanced said.
It's really annoying, such quality. I'm so excited about the movie though!
It's going to be shit, isn't it

I heard that one of the actors state that the movie probably isn't going to be released.
I'm really REALLY hoping the movie gets released.
I sitll watch through the episodes on DVD and still notice background/hidden jokes I never found before.
 Arrested Development

David Cross recently said it's too late to do a movie, so they're probably not going to.

This. Also, it got a really stupid time spot . . . it was on at like 10:00 or maybe even 10:30 on Sunday night. And this was before the popularity of DVR/TIVO.
This show being canceled is why I put no faith in the mass majority.

meh they've been going back and forth on it happening or not. last I heard was good news
I chalk it up to people being stupid and a lack of proper advertising.
I have a feeling that the movie is going to be awkward, mostly because of the kids are older now.

Yeah, but Jason Bateman said about a week later that the cast still wanted to do the movie. It all depends on whether Mitch Hurwitz ever gets around to writing a script.
Wasn't Mitch the only one not willing to do the movie though?
[editline]06:59AM[/editline]
Might've been someone else maybe
This show is awesome.
I wonder if the movie will ever be made?..

I'm pretty sure it was Michael Cera because he's too busy doing "bigger things" to come back and help the show which made him what he is.
I miss this show. It never got the attention it deserved.

I think that was it.
shame nothing can really be done without him

I think somebody beat some sense into him though, last I heard he decided he would do it.
If it is Michael Cera's fault then he's a faggot. This is what made him big isn't it?
Yeh i still love watching the show, never gets old.
Cera was quality in it though :h:
It's not Cera's fault at this point. He said back in December that he was hoping to shoot the movie in 2010, it's Hurwitz. According to Bateman, Hurwitz has been busy shooting a pilot with Will Arnett.
The comedy isn't even that hard to get, I don't see how people could not get it. Unless I'm vastly overestimating the average intelligence of Fox viewers.

Fox runs shows like Family Guy. To say you're vastly overestimating their intelligence is a huge understatement.
I could have sworn every single cast was willing to do it, including Cera, except like one of the writers or the director or something. I know Ron Howard wanted to do it as well, so it wasn't him. Damnit I can't remember who it was.

Almost everyones been on and off
Remember, Fox also cancelled Futurama.
There's always money in the banana stand, but there's never any intelligence at FOX.
