We set out with a singular goal: bring the Steam experience, in its entirety, into the living-room. We knew how to build the user interface, we knew how to build a machine, and even an operating system. But that still left input — our biggest missing link. We realized early on that our goals required a new kind of input technology — one that could bridge the gap from the desk to the living room without compromises. So we spent a year experimenting with new approaches to input and we now believe we’ve arrived at something worth sharing and testing with you
It looks like an off brand mini stereo. lol
Looks weird as hell, but could be interesting to use.
I really don't enjoy using joypads to aim anyway so I kinda want to try this and see how I feel
Dual trackpads, eww
Looks like a tiny boombox

yeah. now valve please give us fans something we've wanted for 6 fucking years
How could it become that much worse than their eariler version of it?
Hope they will let you rebind the keys cause the push to talk button is in a really bad spot and you wont be able to move while you talk unless you were born in Chernobyl and have 2 thumbs on 1 hand.
Woah those pads would allow for some real precise control
ingenious actually

It was goddamn horrible
Valve better make this good
This haptic capability provides a vital channel of information to the player - delivering in-game information about speed, boundaries, thresholds, textures, action confirmations, or any other events about which game designers want players to be aware. It is a higher-bandwidth haptic information channel than exists in any other consumer product that we know of. As a parlour trick they can even play audio waveforms and function as speakers.
Analogue Sticks are still superior.
it looks like a drugged out smiley with a :| face
Looks pretty cool.
what the christ is this and how would that even work
looks uncomfortable as fuck
I really want to try these out for myself.
Ookay, I think we always were like "Wow, that's stupid idea, Valve" first, but then everyone enjoys it.
TF2 hats, L4D2, new steam layout... Everything turned like that
L4D2 hasn't been out for 6 years.
At this point even source 2 would be something.

You can bind them to whatever you want, just switch the binds for zoom and PTT/communication.
Meh.
HL3 is obviously going to be the SteamBox's release title to drive sales. They know there is no way the console will survive without a bomb to back it up.

congrats on predicting something blatantly obvious
I wouldn't mind trying them out. Looks like a "futuristic experience".
looks wierd, but who knows, it could end up being really good. we'll have to wait and see for ourselves.
