Police say they are no longer investigating the matter, and that there is no threat to the public. The discovery of the tunnel on 14 January raised concerns that it could have used for terrorist activities.

"Our concern was whether there was any criminal intent or threat to the people or the city. There was not. The investigation is concluded," said Toronto police spokesman Mark Pugash. The tunnel was located 25 metres from the Rexall Centre, which will host the Canadian Open tennis tournament and the Pan American Games this summer.
**SOURCE** I fucking called it. It was literally just two guys digging a tunnel for fun but because everyone is so fucking paranoid these days it blew into a national news story being covered by everyone, plus all the hard work they put into it was destroyed.
Who could blame them. Tunnel digging is fun.
Probably just making a place to get shitfaced. :v:
I was thinking it was something like that. It's irritating to know their stuff was torn down without anyone ever checking into why it was their. The tunnel itself wasn't going anywhere, or doing anything, so why destroy it without finding out what was up? But that's just hindsight talking. The police are on such high-alert all the time that a suspicious-ish hole was just too bizarre to leave sitting.
oh, sure, "personal reasons." And then, in the middle of the Canadian Open, with hundreds of millions watching worldwide, I AM ALWAYS BENEATH YOU, BUT NOTHING IS BENEATH ME!
I kinda wanna dig out a reinforced underground chamber now. For fun.

They ignored every other possibility outside drugs and jumped the gun and this as what they get for it.
-okay, no digging holes-
The two men, who have not been identified, told police that it was built for "personal reasons".
They call it "The Man Hole."
Surprised the neighbors never investigated the small tunnel I made in the woods. Pretty sure they may eventually, since I'm about to reinforce it.

Create such an awesome layout for a sequel yet never make a sequel.
Who could blame them. Tunnel digging is fun.
Agreed. Tried to dig myself a secret underground base in my parents' front yard when I was a kid. Difficult work though, all I ended up making was a deep pond.
I remember when my brothers and I got together with a couple of friends in their backyard (Dry and Desolate Southern California) and we dug a taliban-esque tunnel system. :v: It was probably extremely dangerous and capable of caving in, but hell we were kids. I can completely understand just wanting a bitchin tunnel to chill and eat snacks.
"Personal reasons". Dude, it's a sex tunnel. DUH.

I can't think of a reason why anyone would dig a tunnel just because.
I bet they were pretty bummed when the police filled in their first attempt at finding mole people. I mean really - 'personal reasons'?
They call it "The Man Hole."
You gotta pay the troll toll is you want to get into this boys hole, you got to pay the troll toll to get in.
Fun fact: that guy knowingly solicited nude pictures from underage girls.
I though I'd heard that he'd been arrested.
