North Korean state TV showed the departure to Russia of a political dignitary, but unlike in years past, no athletes from the country qualified for Sochi Winter Games.
Best Korea does not need athletes to win gold!
Fun fact: NK has won a total of 14 gold medals since their first Olympics in 1964.
Kim's got his own ski lift, he can hold his own Olympic Games where Best Korea wins every medal.
im glad glorious korea has decided to not have any of it's AAA olympians in this years winter olympics.
i was afraid that they would sweep every gold medal, but im glad that worry has been put to rest
Pretty sad when you read about NK Olympians and shit, they're not even let out of the village and told not to communicate with other people, and the consequences for not winning is really shitty

Like being sent to the mines, which happened to that one soccer team.
I heard Kim Jong Un was going for gold in figure skating
The spirit of the Great Leader wins gold on all sports except curling

on curling he wins platinum
well that's what happens when you keep executing your players
maybe someone will shoot him

Nah, i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that they executed the whole team when they returned.
Nah, i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that they executed the whole team when they returned.
Compared to previous failing teams, the Nork's soccer team got off rather lightly after their failure at the 2010 World Cup; they certainly weren't executed. They just got publicly shamed and shouted at for 6 hours, the manager was forced into construction work (or sentenced to hard labour, can't really remember), and the 2 Japanese-born players flew straight back to Japan after the game. In the past they'd get sent to prison camps.

no, Great Leader will be a Diamond Medalist in all the events :v:
At least no athletes for them to execute if they lose

Fun(ish?) related fact: When the Olympics were here in 2012 the foreign office placed people in certain locations to try and help North Korean athletes defect. I dunno if any did though.

Weren't they just forced to endure a 12 hour shaming?

Are you sure these aren't just NK scare tactics? I know they execute over the dumbest shit, but are you sure they don't just say this stuff so the soccer teams feel more pressured?
At least NK understands the need to boycott the Olympics over Gay rights.

That's actually not too bad
I guess nobody faxed them the memo.

I'm pretty sure they all got sent to forced labor camps. I know the couch and one other guy did for sure.
