Yet another 80s movie reboot: Shane Black to write and direct Predator reboot
The ’80s action classic Predator is getting the reboot treatment from 20th Century Fox.
But before some purists cry foul, they should know that this reboot comes with an interesting attachment: Shane Black, the venerable screenwriter behind Lethal Weapon and writer-director of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Iron Man 3.
Black will write the treatment for the project, then will hand over scripting duties to Fred Dekker, his university chum with whom he wrote 1987’s Monster Squad. Black will oversee the writing and is also attached to direct.
That's somewhat promising.
I wonder who they'll pick as the new lead.
I thought we already had a reboot?
I actually really like Shane Black so I'm not as mad about this as I was expecting to be.
Out, somewhere in Hollywood, yet another aspiring screenwriter nobody has ever heard of with an awesome, original script is passed over for yet another remake/sequel/prequel.
Here's hoping it sticks with the spirit of the classic original.
Also, how did the Predators film turn out in the end? You know, the one with multiple predators and a bunch of abductees dropped into an alien jungle?
Don't forget that Shane Black was also the guy who played "Hawkins" in the original. Still, I wonder what this means for the sequel to Robert Rodriguez's Predators movie. I'm pretty sure he was planning on making one, especially since there were a few loose ends he left hanging in Predators.
Funnily enough, Shane Black played Hawkins in the original.
I have some faith in this.

[sp]They kill all the Predators hunting them, but get decimated, and in the end declare they have to find another way off the planet. Only the male and female lead survived.[/sp]
Make it be like the new Terminator where Arnold can play Dutch again, but Dutch is a old soldier veteran leading a team this time
didn't the big nose pianist guy star in a predator remake?

I didn't mean to ask about how it ended, what I meant to say was "was it any good or was it bog-standard Hollywood tish?"
oh gosh he has the hugest nose i've ever seen..
edit: automerge didn't comply
Because they can't just make a follow-up to Predators, which was a good flick. The ending in that film was basically set-up for a sequel.

Arnold should play a flabby, washed up version of Dutch, where nobody believes his story.
Of course except for our intrepid main character

It was ok. Kind of cool that they focused on Bad Bloods instead of normal hunters, but it wasn't something I'd call super astounding.
Also, really hope this is good. I'm an absolutely huge Predator nerd.

And the main character from the second movie. That's his brother for some reason.

I think the best way to describe it is with:
"Ehhhhhh"

Some elements were really enjoyable, but others weren't that good. It's a very middle of the road film.

Predators really REALLY wanted to be Predator but lacked any of the things that made the original good, hell if I am honest I think Predator 2 this the better sequel as at least that wasn't trying to relive the past like a someone going through a midlife crisis.
Actually, I thought Predators was a little better than Predator 2.
Re re boot
What could possibly go wrong

It wanted to be Predator? Well, no shit. Even the soundtrack was made as a homage to the original, it was on purpose.
Predators had a lot going on for it though, not only did it showcase a more advanced Predator, but the idea of gathering Earth's most efficient killers together to fight the Predators was interesting.
Seeing how individuals with totally different backgrounds who wouldn't normally meet eachother fighting against the enemy made for a fun dynamic.
Also, the Yakuza 1 on 1 with the Predator was fuckin' bitching. This movie had things Predator didn't have and vice versa. They're both good movies in their own right.

Adrien Brody is my role model because we have a similar nose but he's been in so many bad movies lately he's making me lose hope of being succesful in the future ;_;

I'm just thinking that if he fell asleep in the jungle, a cockroach could crawl up his nose and live there for a while.

I could barely pay attention during the 2005 King Kong because I kept getting distracted by that nose. That Schnoz, man. It's like someone put a tent on his face.
Brody did Splice there is no coming back from that bullshit.

at least he shouldn't have trouble snoring.
there hasn't been any action movies that come close to predator since they put this man in jail:

If anyone else had gotten the predator screenplay, it wouldve been as forgettable as any other 80s action b-movie.
This dude turned it into a tense thriller with nicely paced action and great set pieces. He's also the reason why die hard 1 and 3 are excellent, but the rest are shit.
