Facepunch, seeing various thread and the bickering they contain about religion, which is mostly about christianity anyway. I want YOU to give me a WELL INFORMED OPINION about your views on religion. I don't want your shitty two sentence replies about why you hate the west borrow baptist church, I want to know why some of you actully hate a normal person, who chooses to follow the christian religion. Don't give me any bullshit about extremeist or the bible being contradictive, just tell me why a normal, hard working, genuinely good person, is "evil" becasue they follow god.

If you look at something that a minority of a certain group does (i.e. is agains homosexuality), and judge the entire group by that, you're a judemental arsehole.
Don't hate someone becasue of their view, even if you think that they're wrong.
You should also know i'm agnostic.

Now facepunch give me your WELL INFORMED OPINION, lots of emphasis on the well informed. Seriously don't give me shit i've heard 1000 times.

I submit this thread knowing when I wake up tommorow morning I will be able to build a box fort taller than the skies themselves, And that maybe when that this is over I can have a new view on religion.

I think religion is alright, I don't like how muslims treat women though. Christians that actually follow doctrine rather than idiots are good people. Of course there's the tv millionaires yelling "everybody is gonna be rich!!111oneone."

Buddhism I honestly haven't really researched so I can't give an opinion on it.

I think it's safe to say that in every religion you'll find the good, but you will also find the monster bad. For example Warren Jeffs the polygamist leader trained young girls for sex and the audio recordings are pretty fucking bad, and the radical muslims blowing up mosques that don't believe the same thing as them and spraying churches and business with machine guns, it's a pretty nasty world out there.

Do I think someone is an idiot for religion? Not at all.

I just don't believe any old men in black cloaks telling me there is a man who created the world and if i don't submit to his boring rules in my life I will be forced to burn eternally. Pretty reasonable I think. Created by humans, told by humans, followed by humans, why would a god put all his trust in you to give all your complete faith in a random person telling you to believe them. Sure, give me some evidence to go on, come down riding horses of fire or something. Don't give me an old book and say some guy came down the earth and did some magic tricks a couple thousand years ago and expect me to believe everything you say.

I know this just applies to Christianity but you could probably jumble things up a bit to change it for most religions out there.
