There it's rendered.
You're not being specific, this image already is rendered in the sense of 2d art terms, and 3d art terms since it's a picture of a model.
Oh sorry, i dont know too much about images, could you remove the background and leave the demoman with his sword?
Wow, that's not rendering, but yeah.

Actually it is.
In 3D graphics, rendering means to make a 2D view of an objects or objects.
In 2D graphics, it means to remove an image from it's background.
I don't know why everyone calls it rendering in the graphic design community, but that's just what it is called.

Maya2008 is good at 2D Rendering, send her a pm ;D

But in 2d art, rendering means to turn form through the use of color and value, or as the newbs like to call it, "shading". Yes, in photoshop grahics communities 'renders' are cutouts of various objects, but that's a very specific term that should only be used when the context makes it obvious. Render is a word with many meanings.
this is what i did real quick, idk wat you want for free work on the internetz lolz

Render: one who RENDS HIS ENEMIES ASUNDER! :black101:
A render isn't a term for cutting out a background; it's basically a 'processed' form of the image, be it digital or otherwise. In programs like Photoshop it's done in real time, but as seen in most 3D programs more quality requires a batch render
Batch rendering... oy. This is what's living on my desktop right now... and is all part of the same project.

...and that doesn't include the older versions of each render... which encompasses about 75% of them. :argh:

3D Studio Max... and I'm working on a crazy animation of a new type of engine.
