Richard Matt, one of two prisoners who escaped from a maximum security prison in New York three weeks ago, was shot and killed by police on Friday, the New York Times reported, citing unnamed law enforcement sources. Matt was shot in the vicinity of Lake Titus, New York, near the Canadian border, the Daily Beast and CNN reported. The second escapee, David Sweat, is still on the run, with police in close pursuit, CNN reported. Dozens of law enforcement vehicles were converging on an area south of Malone, 27 miles (43 km) northwest of the Clinton Correctional Facility, from which the pair staged an elaborate escape that was discovered on June 6.
Reuters
20 days of freedom or the rest of your life in prison. Wonder if he regretted the escape if he knew this was how it would end?
"Bitch, I ain't going back to jail"
20 days of freedom or the rest of your life in prison. Wonder if he regretted the escape if he knew this was how it would end?
I wouldn't exactly call it freedom.
Can't say I feel bad for them.
You eh'nt coming into my country!
I wouldn't exactly call it freedom.
I was thinking that after hearing about their escape. They're not really free if they're on the run from the law and have to always keep an eye open.
The prison itself is "near the Canadian border", of course he was going to be found by it.
20 days of freedom or the rest of your life in prison. The current jail system in our country is atrocious, and some people think that keeping people alive to actually suffer is a better alternative to getting shot and killed outright.
He was caught because he shot at a car. The guy didn't even know it, he heard shots and found bulletholes later on. Seems like a stupid move for what has been a very smart and elaborate escape plan.
what were they in for?
what were they in for?
Tearing the tags off of matresses [sp]murder[/sp]
what were they in for?
Matt abducted, tortured, murdered and dismembered his boss Sweat shot, killed and ran over a police officer
Wasn't this man responsible for like four other escape attempts?
