Hey, I don't know if it's just me, but I keep thinking about how awesome it would be if there was a Pixel War game using the Worms style game play.
Worms:
But instead of worms, we could have a special menu, where you get to create your army in the options menu using your own sprites.
I have quite a few ideas for this, like, make it a downloaded game, with online capabilities.
I think it would be possible to do, and with a little bit of work, we could do it.
If you have any ideas, or questions, feel free to leave a comment.

I was thinking we should be the ones to make this game.
So what we'll need is...
UI
Main Menu-
- Will have Options, Settings, Play Local, Play Online.
Options Menu-
- Army Customization
- Army Settings
- User Name
Settings Menu-
- Connection Type
- Resolution
- Settings Type Stuff
Play Local-
- # of Players
- Army Selection
- Map (I'll get to this after)
Play Online-
- This would look something like a Steam server list, with number of players and stuff like that.
Maps
Map System
- Each map consists of two images, the physical, and the graphical.
- Physical is color coded. Ground is green, sky is white, water is blue, resources- oil-black stone-gray gold-yellow.
- Graphical is just an overlay that shows all the detail and stuff for the map.
- Creating your own maps would be very possible, you would set a coordinate for each teams spawns.
Anything else can be added if it is a decent idea.
sounds cool.It is a good idea not having any experience (im talking about me) would this be hard to make?
Yes, but who would help with it?
We'd need avid programmers, and lots of graphical help as well. I'm sure it could be done if we put our minds to it.
yeah im saying it is possible but it may still take a long time to create and may be hard to crate also.

i would like to see this happen too i would like to help but i have no experience in programing if i did i would most certanliy try to help.
Well, all I know is a bit of actionscript and batch... not really a big help. :(
But I can work on the visual part of the... game, if you will.
i would like to help as much as i can this seems to look like a good idea and it would be a lot of fun to play .
I had thought of that, only cortex command style. If only, cortex command with good sprites that WE made and online battle capabilities.
just a word of warning, dont over do it, it will only crash and burn, dont beileve me check this out http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=864831&highlight=fallout
at first i dont think we should take on so much if you can get programing done (get somebody or yourself or whatever) we should just do singleplayer of somesort and then move on to multiplayer and the more complicated shit.
It's going to be extremely time-consuming and to make the code itself would require someone with expertise in coding, not to be a debbie downer (well, ok) but the fact that people here barely finishes PWs is probably a bad sign.
Yah, but if it was MUCH faster process, where the computer did all of the work for you, like in the Snes Worms game, then every game could potentially get finished.
The only reason most games don't get finished is because people get bored to Hell with it, and want to do something new. If the games lasted less than an hour each for deathmatches and less than 5 for like, those resource kinda maps, then they would be pretty damn fast and done.
In the long run, we could make lots of money off it to.
FP gets it free, and the PW forums have to PAYYYY >:D
I'm sure you could make a singleplayer version in Flash no problem... actually.. it wouldn't be that hard... I think I still have MX installed.. :D
I like the idea of useing your own sprites without that it may get boring very VERY easily
Servers- you'll need them, and as far as I know getting a server to run is a bitch. Good luck.
I run several servers in several games and shit. :smug:
Yeah, but those are rent servers; you'd have to set up your own server if you want this as your own game, and shit.
Sounds great
