When it comes to movie sequels, "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" is widely heralded as one of the best of all time. But as good as "The Empire Strikes Back" is, Anthony Daniels, the voice behind the lovable C-3PO humanoid protocol droid, says "Star Wars Episode 7" will likely be even better. Cue the excitement. Daniels sent a tweet on Sunday, in which he warned that those who claim that no movie sequel is better than "The Empire Strikes Back" will be eating their words come Christmas 2015, which is around the time when "Episode 7" will be released in theaters worldwide. Even if we don't find it quite as good as "The Empire Strikes Back," we're hopeful that Daniels' tweet indicates it will at least be much better than the prequels. "No movie sequel is better than The Empire Strikes Back." You might eat those words for Xmas dinner in 2015. Joy & Indigestion to the world! -- Anthony Daniels (@ADaniels3PO) November 3, 2014
http://www.cnet.com/news/c-3po-thinks-episode-7-will-be-better-than-empire-strikes-back/
pfffffffffffffft. yea right at best it would be up bar to ESB or the OT but I very much doubt they could beat it.
I never was a big fan of ESB.
I think we're good as long as it's better than the PT
It's not like it would be difficult to outdo the prequels, but the original movies will always have people who hold them up higher than anything.

It uses sets and practical special effects and models. Not just pure blue stages and CGI. It can't be worse
Rose tinted nostalgia goggles.
Empire is a pretty flawless movie and it stands on its own outside of the whole series From every piece of leaked information on this new film it sounds like the script writers have no idea what they are doing. Every piece has said that they've effectively made it so the events of the entire OT do not matter. And by extension the PT. Lets just throw the past 6 films out the window so we can make room for more movies and more money

Or are you talking about the Expanded Universe not being canon?
Not heard about this before. When did they say this? Or are you talking about the EU not being canon?
Talking about all the leaks that say (potential spoilers if leaks are true) [sp]Luke has done nothing for 30 years, the Empire is still around and apparently the dominate force in the galaxy, and Luke/Anakin did not bring balance to the force[/sp] So yes I'm talking about just the existing 6 cannon films and none of the EU. I don't think it is bad that they threw out the EU [editline]4th November 2014[/editline]
Like he said, Rose tinted nostalgia goggles.
http://www.empireonline.com/301/list.asp?page=38 Not that I think a film has to top any lists to be a pretty much perfect movie. There are a lot out there And none made by JJ Abrams Its like people have to hate something just because its popular

the originals were legendary masterpieces, and honestly timeless in my opinion. They aren't perfect, but they're close enough to it. It's going to need a lot of hard work to outdo them. the prequels were nothing but shit. Even an amateur director could outdo them.
I would be blown away if they could even come close. ESB is such a classic and an amazing film all around, plus it has harrison ford in his youth and motherfucking boba fett, people haven't been creaming their pants over ESB for almost 35 years for no reason.
I hope we hear official news of a boba fett movie'
I hope we hear official news of a boba fett movie'
I would be scared that they would ruin boba fett with a boba fett movie. I think a large part of what makes boba fett so loved and badass is the mystery behind him, especially if you don't even delve into the EU stuff. Unless the movie included boba fett wrecking jedi like no one's business

It is literally every leak. While not every leak is true there is no way nothing has leaked from this film redsoxrock were you never held as a child or something [editline]4th November 2014[/editline]
I would be scared that they would ruin boba fett with a boba fett movie. I'd be fine if he never appeared in another star wars movie ever again. Make a new mando character with no ties to him

What scares me about EP7 is the possibility that it will be just as dumb as the Marvel movies and most other blockbusters that have been released in the past few years. It's not that they're really bad movies, they just aren't particularly smart or complex. The Marvel movies in particular seem like they WANT to be a little more interesting, but any higher themes they try to pursue just get thrown out in favor of a 20 or 30-minute action sequence. Hollywood is so risk-averse that every big blockbuster follows a very clearly defined, obvious formula. I'm sure it will have great effects and action and everything we've come to expect, but I really hope for more. I want a movie with interesting characters and tight writing instead of the bullshit that was ST:ID's plot. And, most of all, I don't want to put up with "KAAAAAHHHNNN"-esque nostalgia pandering. It's a new movie, so make it a new movie. Don't just pack it full of callbacks and nostalgia-stroking.

He hardly speaks, has almost no character in the movie and you won't even notice him unless you read the comics/books/whatever...

JJ's already got two Star Wars movies under his belt, so I'm feeling pretty confident.

Unless the movie included boba fett wrecking jedi like no one's business
yeah but he didn't exactly get a huge amount of screen time and mystery isn't all that bad ass. He could still be given a bad ass past, such as losing a wife, and going totally fucking mental and taking revenge on the one who did it. A group of rouge "Jedi" or Sith kill someone important to him and he just goes a-wall on them. Scenes like Luke VS Vader (Where luke just UNLEASHES and WAILS on him) would be great. [editline]5th November 2014[/editline] of course, loosing someone is the best idea I'd have with someone like that. There are still a bazillion things you can do.
such as losing a wife, and going totally fucking mental and taking revenge on the one who did it.
So you want Mel Gibson to play Boba Fett?
It uses sets and practical special effects and models. Not just pure blue stages and CGI. It can't be worse
Its sad people still believe the PT was pure cg. In reality it qas very little cg, hell it had more intricate models and sets than the OT at points
In a way I hope he's right, ESB is pretty much the only star wars film I actually like and it'd be nice to see a star wars film of that quality again.
He's definitely a mysterious man of many talents.
I can see that.
I never understood the hype behind Boba Fett appearing in ESB. He tracked down Han Solo and was the first character to "defeat" him.
