A full-size working replica of the Titanic is to be built in China following an historic agreement between an Australian entrepreneur and a Chinese shipyard who are poised to sign a deal. Titanic II is due to be completed by 2016. She will then be sailed to the UK and prepared for her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York - a repeat of the 1912 journey which ended in disaster. The decision by Mr Palmer to choose a Chinese company has prompted scepticism from some about how achievable the project is and how safe the end product will be. The issue has even been raised in Chinese government-backed newspapers. "Frequent scandals involving shoddy products domestically and internationally have turned the term 'Made in China' into a synonym for cheap and low value-added products," an editorial in the Global Times said. However, the newspaper argued that the Titanic II project should be a chance to prove that the 'Made in China' brand does work.
should be a chance to prove that the 'Made in China' brand does work.
Better not sink again
Looks like history is repeating itself.
Lets run it to into another iceberg to see if she'll hold
better yet why not 2 icebergs for Titanic II

I so want tickets for this. As long as they have more lifeboats this time.
I so want tickets for this. As long as they have more lifeboats this time.
Not sure if it was this shit, but there was this big ship that had this escape bay which shot out automatic underwater pods that also sends out a beacon to every ship in the area and to control centers. Dunno if it was the Titanic 2.0 though
Titanic 2: Sink Harder
No matter how many precautions they may take, they're not going to escape the stigma associated, and something tells me that more than likely, "fate" might have a few coincidences in store.
China sure loves copying other peoples work... [editline]19th February 2013[/editline] watch SAME. THING. HAPPENS. AGAIN.
It won't be a real Titanic, it must be built from British steel and British workmanship to be a true Titanic Then you need to crash it somewhere.
Its not going to hit an iceberg. Its going to hit a garbageberg off the coast of China.
China sure loves copying other peoples work... [editline]19th February 2013[/editline] watch SAME. THING. HAPPENS. AGAIN.
Most of China's knock-offs are pretty crappy versions of what they're knocking off so I bet Titanic 2 won't even sink as well as the first one did.
If it does by some miracle prove to be reliable I may very well take a voyage on this thing. I always have loved the Titanic and one of my dreams if I ever get rich enough to not give a shit anymore would be to do pretty much exactly this, only with a western shipyard.
how expensive is it to get a ticket? i mean i imagine the 10 rich people in china getting on and being kinda lonely

[editline]19th February 2013[/editline] I love how Kung Fu Jew just rating bombed the thread [editline]19th February 2013[/editline] grr kug fu jew angry no make fun of china!!!
Wasn't the whole thing with the Titanic basically a really slim chance that it happened? It may not be so bad this time along as use the equator as a stripper pole.

Why shouldn't they pick China. Seems reasonable as China is the largest shipmaker in the world.
The superior construction of Chinese bridges gives me confidence that nothing can go wong, uh I mean wrong.
The titanic was an engineering disaster, if they copy it like for like then it will break so money EU regulations.
Keep in mind guys that it won't be an exact copy.

I thought this was a joke. Its an actual movie.
I thought this was a joke. Its an actual movie.
An Asylum movie. So basically, still a joke
They're going to make it sink and then make a billion dollar movie for it and rake in the dough. Calling it now.
Wasn't the whole thing with the Titanic basically a really slim chance that it happened? It may not be so bad this time along as use the equator as a stripper pole.
The original sank because it A: Couldn't swerve while on full reverse, as was commanded when the iceburg was spotted, and B: The watertight bulkheads weren't quite tall enough. Had the original ship either A: Rammed the iceburg head-on or B: Kept the center engine full ahead it likely wouldn't have gone down at all. Hell it may have even been able to avoid the iceburg entirely for B. But no, whoever was in charge panicked, slammed on the brakes, and swerved. Anyone who's ever seen a russian car crash video knows that doing that pretty much guarantees you're going to hit what you want to miss.
