John McCain’s favored method of conducting politics is the town hall, in part because you never know just what is going to happen. On Thursday, at a town hall in Arizona, a Syrian woman who said her cousin was recently killed by rebels, confronted McCain on his support for bombing the country.
I hate the term "Blasts." Like a medias way of saying TOTALLY PWNEDOWNEDBUTTDEVASTATED
It could have been more cliche, I could have used "slams"
but he was totally pwnedownedbuttdevastated
Not really, if you bothered watching the end of the video you saw her start whining about how the government in place is fine and how her family name is in the bible. McCain's entirely right to say Assad is a butcher, because it's true. However that doesn't mean we need to intervene and get involved
How does her talking about her religion make her earlier statements any less powerful?
Because she's using it to justify the continued existence of her minority group under Assad's regime. It doesn't really matter what her affiliation is if Assad is killing his people and gives others privilege.
She's basically voicing an opinion and reason why we should've gotten involved earlier. Much like Iraq, Syria was controlled by a political party made up by a minority religious sect. They're now afraid they'll be slaughtered. Which is why they continue to fight.

It makes sense to mention said ethnic|religious grouping withthat.
To be honest no Assad could mean a potential genocide to her ethnic group. It makes sense to mention said ethnic|religious grouping withthat.
accepting genocide of others to protect your own minority from genocide isn't acceptable though
so she knows for a 100% fact that syria is a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran? right...... also the Saudi's won't just sit down at the table to do whatever we want, and Iran will always be opposed to whatever we try to do in the region. also they've kept funding hesbula even after all it has done to destabalize the gaza strip and the numerous skirmishes they start. i doubt iran gives 2 shits about the muslims in syria, they just want everybody else to be destabalized so they are the top dog in the region.
accepting genocide of others to protect your own minority from genocide isn't acceptable though
technically speaking she's mentioned atrocities were commited on both sides. That's not the same as accepting them. On top of that even if the chemical bombimb of rebel held areas is true, it's not genocide since it's not meant to be a cleansing.
