After 12 years and four studio albums, My Chemical Romance announced they're splitting up in a surprise blog post published on their official site tonight.
The message to fans, simply titled "My Chemical Romance," reads:

We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.
I dunno how to feel about this. I won't miss them, that's for sure.
hey guys remember when mcr was cool??
yeah me either
We'll carry on
i saw them live once. it was awful
Eh. I liked a few of their songs as a teenager, but I can't say I was ever a fan. Now my music tastes are different, anyway.
Ha, man, I haven't heard a word about them in at least five or six years. They had their MTV heyday when I was a teenager, and that was it.
I never understood why basic bands like them need so many people. They had six fucking members for a basic alternate rock band.
Tumblr is going to shit itself with "feels"

I feed on the tears of emos

Too emo for my taste
NO NO NO there is no way this is happening and that's not just my refusal of reality (in the case that this is real) talking.
Gerard (the singer) confirmed that they were doing shit and meeting with people for a fifth album, they just recently did a revamp of their website, AND nothing besides their main website has said anything. I'm willing to bet the website's been hacked.

The only song I like as well, and its still not that much.
I really enjoyed their stuff and I'll miss them for sure
Was never really a fan of them, although my Facebook feed is being flooded with this

Singer, bass, rhythm and lead guitar, and drums. Keyboard in some songs. That doesn't sound like too much

Five members
After 2010 they used session drummers so their core group was only four people.
Wait why is it such a big deal how many people were in the band

It's not, he was just commenting on it. Sort of like what you're doing in your post.

the whole

bit made him sound pretty angry regarding the fact
I know like three girls who are bawling their eyes out right now.

if they enjoyed the music and it meant something to them then that's ok
I would be doing the same if I'd been around in 1980 when Led Zep broke up
Wow, I haven't heard or seen anything about them since middle school so I've always assumed that they broke up a long time ago.
Huh, I was just going back and listening to some of their songs earlier today. Their first two albums were alright, and The Black Parade had some decent songs too. Never really listened to their newest release, except for watching the "Na Na Na" music video. I mean, who can resist Grant Morrison as a villain?
i find many mcr songs quite listenable. they've definitely got a bandwagon hatred going on. (had)

I thought my chemical romance was gay back when I liked linkin park.
So uh

ugh i find linkin park to be extremely whiny, can hardly stand the lyrics but their sound makes up for it. all the members sound great but goddd the dripping angst.
mcr compared to them i find more bouncy and full of action, linkin park sound like they're sitting on a couch doing heroin through a haze of tears.
I love their Three Cheers album, it's pretty fun to listen to every once in a while. Though, I never cared for them when they tried to be all serious after that.
Still kinda sad to see them go.
many emo's will suicide now :|
im happy they broke up
I hated MCR until I actually listened to them maybe 5 years ago, they're a pretty decent band. I don't get all the hate, personally. Every band has some stupid persona in one way or another.

idk if it was even about their appearance, just that they were associated with large crowds of teenage girl fans.
