lol is this guy really trying to say that men are just as sexualized in games as women are
and the rest of the video makes literally no sense at all so not even going to bother with that
Male characters are targeted towards a male audience, of course male gamers wouldn't object to it.
I would understand that if most "sexualized" male characters have similar character development to Twilight, but it doesn't apply here.
so basically if you're female and complain about stupid abusive language, you're basically a feminist who thinks all men are evil and obviously don't understand gaming.
he could have just said this at the beginning, without wasting 2 minutes and 45 seconds of my time
1) men are not sexualized in the same way as women. how many games have you played where a main character(or sidekick)( is a man and he is either not very attractive or properly clothed throughout the game. now how many main characters are female and either not very attractive and not dressed in skin-tight clothing or incredibly revealing unfunctional clothing(fantasy games im looking at you). you should see a very clear difference here.
2) yea everyone gets shit-talked on the internet. however, how many of these people are demeaned based simply on the fact that they are a man? how often is someone called out for having a deep voice or sounding too masculine? people are called out based on their perceived race, sexuality, playing skills, age. you are only called out on your sex if you are not a man.
Is this nigga serious?
Brace for Sanius squad
They're just video games, not Saudi Arabia, they're not part of a conspiracy to diminish women's rights
I agree a bit with him, but I dont like the way he generalises all girls
It is funny the way people try to deny the existence of misogyny in video games.
Calm down, misogyny is everywhere, it is not like video games and people who play them are automatically vile because they do the same things as Hollywood.
This is fucking retarded, characters like chris redfield and other examples he showed that are built like tanks(no clue who they were) don't degrade the character or their gender, they empower them. A woman dressed in 2 slips of leather is not empowering with F-cups, it's degrading

I would argue that men get called out a lot for not adhering to a strict set of rules that define 'what it is to be a man'. Showing weakness or having a more feminine personality will get a guy just as much harassment

you could argue that hyper-masculinised male characters disempower less-masculine males by providing an exaggerated and unobtainable standard
his argument that everyone gets trash talked is just bullshit
the moment anyone finds out there's a woman on the server, there's always at least one person that takes it upon themselves to harass them until they leave
little kids, foreigners, and people with speech impediments never get it that bad
Little kids get it bad. They just don't leave when people harass them. They kinda just stick it out arguing back and forth
little kids stop talking, get muted, or get caught up in a shoutoff. in the first two categories, thats where it ends. and no one really cares if a kid is playing as long as they aren't vocal about it
this is not the case with girls

There's stereotypes both ways, it's just that everyone complains about one half and no one gives a shit about the other.

this is the dumbest fucking thing, it honestly doesn't even warrant a response
One thing I never get is people saying bulked up alpha males are 'sexualized'. It's not the female sexual fantasy that drives it, it's the male power fantasy that does. Likewise, it's the male sexual fantasy that causes all the tits on legs.
Gaming is pretty male-centric.
I'm just tired of this "Misogyny In Video Games" and feminists attacking video games in general.
I'm just tired of this "Misogyny In Video Games" and feminists attacking video games in general.
I am tired of misogyny
feminists saying video games are sexist is dumb anyways along with their "IT SHOULD CATER TO ME" thought process
In video games and everywhere else.
I am tired of misogyny
there is no misogyny just feminists grasping at straws because an obviously male dominant hobby has a few sexualized characters (FOR BOTH FUCKING GENDERS)
There's stereotypes both ways, it's just that everyone complains about one half and no one gives a shit about the other.
Because the degrading male characters are very few, and very far between. The female ones are in almost every game where a female is featured.

not everyone voicing those concerns is the psychopathic misandrist-feminist stereotype. cool your jets fool
Some people hate sexualised characters because it's a cheap stunt to put boobies in everything and they're almost always bland stereotypes, bad characters in general.
Others hate sexualised characters because it's degrading to women to show them in that light and it is the people who made it as well as anyone who plays it are obviously sexist pigs that hate women.
It's fine to argue against bikini armour, but doing it for that reason is retarded.
This video not only looks like it was thrown together in 5 minutes, but the arguments, while I agree with it, feel paper thin.
"Who complains about the over sexualized men? No one." Fool Proof argument.

That's a funny fucking joke dude.

exactly. you are never called out for being masculine, only being perceivably feminine.
Some of you guys will try to find misogyny in a fucking cereal box.
some of you guys will ignore misogyny even if its right in front of you
