Congress' approval rating has fallen to an abysmal 9% -- to put this in perspective, herpes is now slightly more popular than Congress.

Meanwhile, a recent Gallup poll found that 11 percent of people found polygamy "morally acceptable." Additionally, 30 percent of Americans expressed approval of pornography.
The Fix posted a telling chart created by Senator Michael Bennet that compared Congress' approval rating to a slew of unpopular people, things and ideas. "U.S. going communist" received an 11 percent approval rating, banks netted 23 percent and the BP oil spill received a shocking 16 percent.
Yes, porn, polygamy, the BP oil spill, and the US becoming communist are all more popular than congress. But who couldn't figure that out anyway?
In other news. The sun brightened the skies and oxygen is breathed in by mammals.
Other things that are more popular than congress: porn
Umm, no shit?
But seriously: Herpes / Cancer 2012
They're here for you.
They're here... for America.
And yet most representative's approval rates among their own constituencies are high.
People hate Congress because it is composed mostly of people that don't agree with them.
Also because they are incapable of doing ANYTHING right.
The title gave me a good laugh. But this is true.
Additionally, 30 percent of Americans expressed approval of pornography.
This seems deeply disconnected from the amount of people who look at porn.
You have to remember that even when a poll is anonymous, people still vote against what they actually think because of the shadow of the herd mentality. There's a tendency to vote for what they perceive society perceives to be "the right option" even when that clashes with their own belief.
The best way to gauge what someone actually thinks is to observe them when they don't even realise it's a poll. That's why actual porn consumption rates are much higher than what the poll suggests, and furthermore actual Congress approval may be higher.

Yeah, but you've got take into account all of the closest pornography viewers. You know, the sorts of people who preach about purity and good values during the day and then spend the night watching videos of greasy men tear apart slutty women.

fixed

Re-fixed.
This seems deeply disconnected from the amount of people who look at porn.
There's probably significant percent of people who voted while thinking this:
"I highly disapprove of the porn industry. They're not making enough granny tranny porn.
And my wife agrees with me. Isn't that right, Hana?" *lifts pillow* "'That's right, honey! Teehee!' See, even my darling Hana agrees with me."
But seriously it's probably because of that "herd mentality" thing with polls that Dain posted.
I dont know how the system in america works, but this means that they will do something about congress? Right?

Congress is the herpes of America, the way they're herping and derping around.

Fixed again.
That sounds a little high
Only 11% found polygamy morally acceptable? I didn't know it was that frowned upon.
Only 11% found polygamy morally acceptable? I didn't know it was that frowned upon.
Remember that many of the non-religious also frown on polygamy because it implies a lack of equality.
Thanks for this, I'm using it in a paper I'm writing for school.

What does that even mean
After all Congress is the opposite of Progress :eng101:

That joke is old. I remember when I first saw it it was the most clever thing I've ever heard, but now it's been repeated so much to me...
What does that even mean
It's saying that one man can have more than 1 woman in marriage. Some people will view that as 1 man = X number of women instead of 1 man being equal to 1 woman. In rare cases it is vice versa.
only 30% approve of pornography? What's so bad about it?
Nothing, but most people don't want to be caught admitting they like porn in public.
Only 11% found polygamy morally acceptable? I didn't know it was that frowned upon.
Polygamy is different from Polyamory.

At least, if I'm understanding this all right.
Congress makes and passes laws, so nothing will happen about Congress.

In otherwords, its just a big ole fat bandwagon.
only 30% approve of pornography? What's so bad about it?
Well 50 % of the people are women, and the rest 20% lie because they're ashamed :downs:
We 30% who approve of porn will not go unnoticed! We demand hotter women and longer videos on streaming websites. We are legion. We are Pornymous!
