Meet Richard Castle: he's a successful murder-mystery writer who has just killed off his main character. However, it seems one of his fans liked his books just a bit too much when a copycat murderer starts running around killing people as described in Castle's books.
After being
questioned by the police Richard joins forces with Detective Kate Beckett to solve this case. The two become partners begin working together to solve other murders in New York along with other detectives Javier Esposito, Kevin Ryan and Captain Roy Montgomery. They also work with medical examiner Lanie Parish. Richard's family includes his mother Martha Rodgers, who was a broadway diva and his daughter Alexis.
The show is produced by ABC Studios and Beacon Television. ABC is set debut the show in March 9, 2009. Castle was given a 10 episode order for the first season.
This show is awesome, at first it might seem another CSI copycat. But it's far more than that. Clever dialogue, good script and good actors really make this show. Instead of the usual stereotypes (Funny guy, guy whose made fun of, boss guy) it actually has well developed characters who can't be put in a box.
Watch this show, and appreciate it's superiority over other detective shows.
I just found out about this show last week. And since then I watched all the episodes.
What I especially like about this show is that there is an overarching story line. In contrary to most other shows were they reach a status quo after each episode, and might as well be seen in random order.
EDIT: Oh and for you butt hurt Firefly fans out there, it's a chance to see Nathan Fillion in his Firefly costume one last time, and countless other Firefly references.
I watched most of the first season back when it first premiered and I enjoyed the shit out of it but then school started and I couldn't stay up so late to watch it.
I was in highschool damnit :argh:
Netflix or buy it.
One of my favorite shows on tv right now. We watch it every time it is on.
This show is fucking awesome, this is the only procedural police show I watch now. Nathan Fillion is badass.
Also I love how he keeps making Firefly references :unsmith:

When he wore that space cowboy Firefly suit:
Alexis: Dad, didn't you wear that 5 years ago?
Dad: So?
Alexis: Don't you think it's time to move on?
Dad: No, it's too much fun.
They are totally teasing us.
Gonna watch it just for Nathan Fillion
Love this show.
This and Bones are the only cop shows that I watch these days.
These two specifically because they're both headed by former Whedonverse stars. :unsmith:
I don't like Bones, I find the characters quite boring, maybe I should give it another shot?
EDIT: Probably not, I just realised that without Nathan Fillion I wouldn't even like this show. Actors can really make or break a movie/show I guess.
Nathan Fillion makes this show what it is. He is absolutely awesome. Shame that Hollywood hasn't picked him up.
I've been following this since it started airing on Alibi (UK channel on sky) Nathan Fillion has made it my favorite show.

Fillion should be the next James bond, this show proves he can be a womanizer and a smug bastard.
And Firefly shows he can be a badass, What's not to like?
Two reasons I like this show; hot daughter and Nathan Fillion. Haven't watched it in forever, though. Lost interest...

Lost interest in girls?

Nathan Fillion as a manly role model, friend. I, lacking a father figure, cling to any male TV hero for comfort.
The hot daughter, on the other hand, is eyecandy.
Great show, anything with Nathan Fillion is instant awesome.
The company I intern for works on this show, I've never watched it though.
Last night's episode was fantastic, best one yet, or atleast on par with the other two-parter where becket's [sp]apartment gets blown up. [/sp]
EDIT: Wow, the tv.com Castle forums are filled with girls hating on Josh for ruining Castle and Beckets relationship.
