Couldn't tell if it was supposed to be Half Life or Battlefield, with those awful noises.
oh hey, it's kind of like those short films that came with that influx of short films based in the half life universe that arrived around two or three years ago when everyone realised that there hadn't been anything half life related for years, only it looks a bit better because it's now and not a few years ago
guaranteed when it comes out it's gonna be a relatively enjoyable vfx-fest with terrible, terrible writing and awful acting, assuming there are actually actors and a story and it's not just a bunch of pretty looking visuals with no attempt at adding substance whatsoever
...lookin forward to it
[editline]10th May 2014[/editline]
although considering how awful that title is, i'm gonna go ahead and judge the book by its cover and say that the writing is gonna be similarly terrible
[editline]10th May 2014[/editline]
also the vfx was a little sketchy in some places and it looks like they ironed out the major flaws by just making it really dark
yeah im making myself less and less interested in this as i go along
that was more of a test video than a trailer/short
edit: that wasn't information, just what i thought of it
Looks pretty weak.
Why is every single Half-Life fan film filter-raped? You may as well call it Instagram: The Movie.
shit dude this is some rad helicopter footage
i fucking love watching helicopters fly
will the full thing have more helicopters

Helps obscure their VFX they learned over a weekend.
Wow, you didn't waste time with the "BWOOONG" shit, did you?
The first one is 7 goddamn seconds into the trailer.
Anyways, it looks alright. I can stand the filters but the fucking sounds on the trailer were just awful. I know people are tired of the bitching about the Inception-bwongs in trailers, but they do suck legitimately.
And as said, the writing and acting will probably be fanfic-levels of garbage.
I thought this was going to be some creationist film
Why is it that every Half Life fan film looks nothing like Half Life bar the inclusion of gunships and Civil Protection? Have these people ever played the games?
At least this one looks closer than that stupid one a couple of years ago that had fucking holograms and ninja fight scenes.
I thought the Combine Chopper were operated by Combine-Soldiers.
They already had humanoid soldiers?

I dunno, atleast Escape From City 17 turned out pretty well and had effort. Most of the other low quality HL2 fan films just throw in Metrocops and call it "Half Life".
Then again, most of the HL1 fan films have much more effort put into them (Considering you have to have actually played them instead of looking at bloody posters), such as Enter the Freeman & Half Life: Origins.
Looks cool I guess

they did not
the initial invasion was by synths, which makes this all the more stupid

A lot of professional studios still do it :v:
Also the entire trailer is VFX shots, it's gunna blow ass.

that's true, but assuming that those chopper scenes take place well after the 7h war, i don't see what the problem is.

Gordon dies halfway through the introduction scene and Jesus Christ picks up the crowbar.
