• Do you think girls in Medieval and Ancient times were better looking than modern girls?

It bugs me that we don't really know what they looked like. I have feeling that since this was before industrial strength cosmetics, hair frying products, plastic surgery etc that they were probably more beautiful in a natural way. And yes, I know views of what is considered beautiful change down the ages, but I highly doubt, for example, that the fatasses depicted in renaissance art represented some kind of beauty standard at the time. I think men have generally found the same kind of women hot since the dawn of civilization.
Hell no. They didn't have much hygiene.
Better personalities back then i guess.
They bathed like 2 times a month and had to wear flowers below their noses so they didn't smell themselves. So oh HELLLLLLL no.
Just because they stunk doesn't mean they weren't pretty.
no makeup = instant boner kill you guys are desperate then...... everyone who disagrees with me is a chinaman
No they believed fat made them good looking. Now i don't like really skinny women, but i'd rather take a skinny chick then a fat chick (depends on how fat though)
Better personalities back then i guess.
What personality? Also they didn't shave, they didn't bathe, they worked all day and wore the same clothes for days on end, fuck no.
They showed more cleavage.
They also didn't shave.
I highly doubt, for example, that the fatasses depicted in renaissance art represented some kind of beauty standard at the time.
Well you're wrong, because they did.
What personality? Also they didn't shave, they didn't bathe, they worked all day and wore the same clothes for days on end, fuck no.
Not the wealthy ones.
Well back then the stank was so prevalent that nobody minded it. So you prob. wouldn't either if you lived in their time. On that note, I think that the era of the black and white film had the prettiest women. Case in point:
Pretty much every girl considered beautiful back then would be universally considered fat today.
Not the wealthy ones.
Even the wealthy didn't bathe. It was considered frivolous.

they wore just as much makeup, if not more than girls now. (they referring to Renaissance period).
While they aren't "Ancient" Whereas today...
-rita-
I knew I was forgetting someone.
Pretty much every girl considered beautiful back then would be universally considered fat today.
Actually, I think it's the opposite. People back then didn't have as much surplus food as we do now. I think the average girl in America today (not NYC or LA)would be considered fat by Medieval men.
I prefer girls without makeup on, they appear more attractive.
Yeah, women in the past tend to look better when you compare the hottest ones from the past with the ugliest ones from today.
That one on the bottom wouldn't be too bad if not for the nose ring. I mean really. Nose ring?
People back then didn't have as much surplus food as we do now. They actually sold products designed to fatten girls up a bit.

Are they descendants of the peasants of Wiltshire? Well anyway, Helen of Troy seems to have been a hot person.
Actually, the poorer people in medieval times were often very thin. They usually didn't have a lot to eat. The more rich you were, the more food you could afford. Basically the fatter you were was a sign of a more luxurious life and showed other people that you had money. At least that was what I was told.
Damn 50's women were hooooooooooooooooooooot
