• Czech president onto rescuing Bohemia Interactive Devs. Go Klaus!
Czech Republic leader Václav Klaus has publicly appealed to Greek president Karolos Papoulias regarding the detention of ArmA 3 developers Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar on espionage charges. "I would like to address a matter of two Czech citizens who were arrested in Greece and charged with espionage," Klaus wrote, translated by Eurogamer.cz. "This case is very sensitive to the Czech public and also to me as President of the Republic. The fate of our citizens anywhere in the world matters to us. "I have no doubt that the democratic Greek authorities - police, prosecutors and the courts - will consider this unfortunate matter impartially and independently. Even I do not in any way want to interfere with their work. "I want to ask you, Mr. President, to follow this unfortunate affair with special attention considering the excellent relations between our nations so this does not throw unnecessary shade onto our relationship. "Once again, I want to assure you that I have the utmost certainty that our accused citizens will be given all the rights in the search for justice by the Greek authorities.” Reports of the pairs' arrest first came in September, when it was revealed the two had been arrested on the island of Lemnos, accused of recording footage of military facilities. Both they and Bohemia Interactive insist the accused were simply on holiday. Since then the community has launched a website, Helpivanmartin.org and petition in support of Buchta and Pezlar, and recent justice strikes in Greece have delayed their trial and release.
Source 1 Source 2 Such a fucking bro this guy is!

Doesn't surprise me, Czech isn't a large nation, but it's cool their president is making movements to get those guys out of there (even if it is just giving Greece a harsh word or two), or at the very least a fair trial.

Nice of him to do such a thing. I don't remember any Prime Minister in the UK ever doing something like this.
Czech Mate, Greece.
Hey, he's Czech, what do you expect.
...is this some sort of European discrimination thing?
...is this some sort of European discrimination thing?
I'm Czech, we are like that.
Oh man, anyone who had him visit had better czech on their stuff
Czech please!
...is this some sort of European discrimination thing?
In the western part of Europe atleast, there is a bit of a 'every eastern European is a poor thief' stereotype.
Finally some justice in this world. Hopefuly they will see daylight soon
HUE HUE, WE GREECE, GIB MONE AND WE RETURN PRISONERS!!!
Thank god, I was playing Arma 2 recently and it made me wonder, if they stayed in Greece, There might not be another game.

It's okay. If they didn't want him to take it they wouldn't of put it in front of him in a fancy box. Even I would of tried to take that pen.

Can't blame Mr. Klaus, that is one nice pen.
Thank god, I was playing Arma 2 recently and it made me wonder, if they stayed in Greece, There might not be another game.
ArmA 3 is still in development and being released whether they get out of jail or not. Though I obviously want them to get out of jail really bad, they've been there for quite a long time and apparently they're just in shitty cells with nothing.
The Czech president's a smooth operator. "Let the law be impartial. ESPECIALLY impartial, because, you know, our countries have a nice relationship, and you wouldn't want to sour that relationship, would you?" If the law was indeed impartial, they'd have been set free by now in any case, but I'm just saying.

he smiles with such a look of accomplishment when he puts it in his pocket
Hey, he's Czech, what do you expect. (User was banned for this post ("Xenophobia" - MaxOfS2D))
Is it Xenophobia, if I, as a Czech, confirm this is completely true? We ourselves often stereotype us as thieves. Quite a few of our jokes are based on this country being full of (our) thieves. In this way, we are quite a self loathing country.

Anyway this is great news for them!
Hey, it's MaxOfS2D, what do you expect?
Can't blame Mr. Klaus, that is one nice pen.
I love the way he nods approvingly at it as he takes it out of the box
Hey, it's MaxOfS2D, what do you expect?
If he keeps this up he will outdo TH89.
Proposition: So Greece is still in a cold war state with Turkey? And Czech republic is a master of arms technology and delevopment? Give Greece some sweet ass equipment in exchange for freedom of awesome devs. Greece could either use the weapons to feel more secure and powerful or sell them for dosh which they apparently need so badly. Problem solved.
It's nice our president wants to help. I still can't believe they haven't returned those guys, they even refused bail.
Holy Shit... So many Czechs in this thread... I should really open my Plzen.
Hey, he's Czech, what do you expect. (User was banned for this post ("Xenophobia" - MaxOfS2D))
looks like he should have czeched his privilege
