Today in English I, I decided to write a poem about D-Day, Seeing how today is the anniversary. Heres some info on the Normandy landings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normandy_landings ------------------------------------ Splish Splash The soldiers hit the beach Over a million shots were made that day Splish Splosh Most men fell and died, showing us who is the one to really teach On that beach, thousands lay Boom Slish Some men were also put on a leash What many dont understand is that you still have respects to pay ------------------------------------ A little bit of information about poem format: My goal was to use onomatopoeia (Words that make sounds). Also, I wanted to make a rhyming scheme that isint noticed until in the middle or toward the end.
Praise the brave sons of bitches that went out onto that beach. I would be scared shitless. My great-grandfather went out. Thank god he survived. He got lucky
