Good god, who thought this was a good idea?
I wonder how long Ouya is going to be around now?
OUYA is such a shitty gimmick lol
at least something that makes sense as a emulator for touchscreen, like, motion sensing or an actual touchscreen
'
that and phone games are really not good alone. This is coming from a guy that has many indie games along with many AAA games. If you just play indie games, well, thats just stupid and pointless. AAA games can be far, far better, but aren't as common at all.
I think both Indie and AAA in equal amounts is the best way to go for any gamer. ESPECIALLY seeing how wonderful and amazing Humble Bundle is.
and you see, the best thing about the OUYA is it attracts piracy so much, it becomes an even bigger gimmick.
So if I don't buy an OUYA I'll puke all of my guts out and then rip my spine out by my tongue?
Fuck, sign me up
The Ouya really isn't that bad, it's heaps fun to play splitscreen games on with friends and the console is definitely not as bad as everyone here thinks. But no, that ad made me cringe and didn't really make me want to get one.
Someone needs to edit this so he's holding an ouya.
Why would he be any better off buying a 100 dollar system to play shitty android games?
I thought this was a parody video making fun of the Ouya
OP's vid got taken down here is a mirror

I love all the games they show for the OUYA
I have been saying (oi-yah) instead of (oo-yah) this whole time
Gee I can't imagine why the Ouya team removed that video
I have been saying (oi-yah) instead of (oo-yah) this whole time
I say "ow-yay" out of spite
it says "stop wasting cash on crappy games" and then says 100s of games free to try.
i guess the ouya is good to play 100s of crappy games for free

"free to try" 100 free demos
Whenever someone mentions the ouya the only thing I can think about is this:

(watch for at least 14 seconds to make sense please)

It honestly really isn't that gimmicky. The Ouya devs promised exactly what they delivered, they even helped keep the cost down by giving you a touch pad instead of screen. Sure a screen would have been nicer but it would have shot the price up considerably.
I still say the problem lies in those who kickstarted it believing they were getting something fantastic and revolutionary instead of literally a home console that plays android cell phone games.
I don't care about the OUYA, but that ad was fucking great.
60 bucks?!?! I can't belive multi-million dollar investions need some profit to make another game or keep the studio alive!
Are you tired of all of your video game purchases only being moderate disappointments?
Buy an OUYA today!
Instead of buying a shitty $60 game, buy a shitty $100 glorified emulator machine.
This would be a cheap and useful streaming device thingy

SmartSticks are cheaper
If i took out my spine and started smashing my face in with it I would have also thought the ouya would be a good investment.

It is. Supports any Android app (Netflix/Hulu/HBO Go/Showtime on Demand/Crackle. Natively supports XBMC and you can play emulated versions of nearly every console released between 1970-1999. Has plenty of USB ports, supports Bluetooth and it comes with a controller for you to use. You don't need to tinker with it so if you're willing to pay a premium for a better product, I highly recommend it over the generic Chinese HDMI sticks you can get.

I've heard it requires fiddling to get emulators running smoothly. and what about that gamestick thingy coming? That's cheaper and its controller looks a LITTLE better
I've also heard that the emulation on the Ouyas are really fidgety and slow - at least for N64 gaming and last I checked.

Hi Everyone, a statement on the video: This is not our official ad. We are experimenting with animated content and posted this video briefly to get feedback from our community. Stay tuned for our official video.
This simply isn't true. I understand that you want to disown this ad because of the overwhelming negative response it's received but the bottom line is that it was a publicly accessible video on an YouTube channel controlled by Ouya - that's as official as it gets.
While I get where you're coming from it's however incorrect. There are certain factors in being "official" and these don't fill in all of them warrant so. Just because it was placed on a account that the company controls, for all we know it was created by employees unrelated to PR in their free-time. What I get from this is that it was just for fun from fun-having employees who made a joke that didn't go well(obviously).
We're not responsible for what we post on the official OUYA YT channel.
