[release]Hello Black Mesa fans!
We come to you once again with an update. It's now the end of 2009, and we know many of you have literally counted the days down until this fateful month. We are floored by the level of support you have given us and are very excited we're so close to reaching our goal.
Unfortunately, to our great disappointment, Black Mesa will not make a 2009 release.
Cynics may now rejoice, bets may be collected, and I think a mod team member has to eat his shoe, but we hope our loyal fans will forgive us and realize that the delay will translate into a better final product that's (hopefully) more easily available to everyone.
Once again we apologize for what has to be very disappointing news. We placed a 2009 deadline on ourselves to motivate us and bring this 6 year project to a close. And while we didn't quite make it, we have come very close, and you can expect a complete, polished game to hit your hard drives in the near future. We'll be sure and update if anything changes. Until then, hang tight, it's coming![/release]
:sigh:
For those who don't know what it is:

It's basically a recreation of half-life using the source engines full capabilities (updated graphics, new physics, sounds, textures, completely redone levels from scratch, etc.) It has singleplayer, COOP, and deathmatch, and when it comes out will LITERALLY be the best game to ever exist ever.
Not a big surprise.
Boo-Fucking-Hoo, it's most likely going to be out January.
Hmm, I guess it's down to how I don't game much anymore but what's Black Mesa? Is it a recreation of Half Life 1 or something?

Yeah that's basically it.
I think we'll get it late 2010.
Hmm. Cool models. Can't wait to put em in Gmod.
Yeah that's basically it.
Oh okay.
I wonder if it has support for co-op.
Oh okay.

It does.
Oh well...
[editline]11:06AM[/editline]
It has Co-op?! FUCK YEAH MAN!
nooooooooooo
I think we'll get it late 2010.
i'm getting very pessimistic about this mod now, i'm litterally bawwing. i'm guessing late 1213.
oh shit man, fail... still, i'll let it hang there for amusement....
*the facepalm that brought on early 2012*
(it means it was very hard)
and I think a mod team member has to eat his shoe
What.
I don't see a point if it isn't realeased in jan. or early feb., likely i will lose interest.
I think we'll get it late 2010.
And then, they tell us, oh, sorry! we have to extent it to 2011! Keep faith in us!
Fuck, not surprised in the least. I gave up on "major" HL2 mods about 3 years ago. I hate to sound like an ungrateful asshole, but the level of dedication in the HL2 community is pathetic. I think Simkas or Chesty said the same thing about the problem with attitude towards creating custom content in the FP community.
Next: NS2
People still care about this mod? I lost interest ages ago.
Boo-Fucking-Hoo, it's most likely going to be out January 2013.
Fixed.
People still care about this mod? I lost interest ages ago.
Some still look to that trailler and go "Yay I can't wait" its not hard to believe most of us here love half-life and would enjoy its proper recreation however long it may take
Valve should consider hiring these guys because they definitely fit in, right down to release date timings and all.
I am just worried that because we have waited for so long that the game will not live up to the expectations.

Well hey they're doing it for free. Feel free to lose interest, but they're not obliged to do anything for anybody. I'm still interested but I've stopped anticipating it. I'll be stoked when it's out though, it looks really good. But I don't understand why people would give them shit for having not finished remaking an entire game with a small team, for no money. They do have lives like regular people (I can only assume).

People still care about not caring about this mod? I lost interrest in you guys ages ago.
At least we actually know some stuff about this
WHERE THE FUCK IS HL2:EP 3?
At least we actually know some stuff about this
WHERE THE FUCK IS HL2:EP 3?
The more you ask, the longer you gonna wait. Just drop it already. It will get here when it gets here.
They truly are designing games like VALVe
Didn't see that one coming

This was something I was quite excited for, but it's been so long I'm not too fussed about.
I think this is more to do with losing interest in games in general.
boo-fucking-hoo, it's most likely going to be out january.
2011.
As I said in the News Node, it's Gordon Freeman Forever. They're the independent modding team version of 3DRealms.
2011.
at least thats not 2012 because then we would only be able to play it till december
