A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a falling traffic light which was struck by a car in Aberdeen.
The pedestrian, said to be in his 60s, was walking along Union Street when the car crashed through the traffic signal and into a shop front.
Grampian Police said the accident happened at about 11:30.
A man and a woman in their 70s were rescued from the vehicle and also taken for treatment. None of the injuries was said to be life threatening.
Road closures and diversions have been put in place and traffic is being diverted along alternative routes.
It seems even our cities aren't safe from the terrors of modern day life, in these futuristic times. After all, there are lights everywhere - are we even safe in our own homes? Has lighting gone too far?
Never the less, I'm glad the victim didn't die, you could say - I'm glad he didn't see the light!
Your light puns are terrible.
I'm sure after this, the city council will give the greenlight to better safety measures.
This thread is enlightening on the dangers of electricity

I live in Aberdeen, literally nothing happens here apart from random stuff like this. Last week's top news story was that some ducks which were stolen from a school were returned, clearly I live in a dangerous and unruly city full of anarchists.

I first thought it said "Grampa police" and through my slight moment of ignorance I imagined a special kind of police force centered around grandpa related crimes.
go light on the puns, guys, this man is seriously hurt

our top stories in Dundee are usually people getting stabbed
Top stories here are dumb shit schools does.
Anyway, he must have felt as if it was a flash from the sky.
Did his life flash before his eyes?
Man, this thread should be re-made with less terrible puns.
I've heard they're reinforcing them now, in light of recent events.
Reminds me of the GTA4 gif where a ped gets smashed by a falling lamppost. I dont have it though.
Also those puns sucked.
This reminds me how I got killed by a falling traffic light in San Andreas.
