COLUMBUS, GA (KTRK) -- "I went back into the house like a dummy." That's what one man in Georgia said after he risked his life to save beer from his fridge while his house was on fire. The flames broke out while six adults and two young children were watching TV. Everyone quickly made it outside safely. But then Walter Serpit, who walks with a cane, rushed back into the burning building to save something near and dear to him. "I told them to get the kids out and everything, and me myself, being an alcoholic, I was trying to get my beer out," he said. "You feel me?" Serpit managed to rescue several cans of beer from the fire without getting burned.
http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/bizarre&id=9300706 I bet he's irish.

I'm pretty sure he's just dumb.
"You feel me?"
dude, everybody understands.
This is the hero America needs.
I am proud to be the same resident of the state he lives in. This man is an inspiration to us all.
I don't blame him, someone like him would need it after their house burning down
Alcohaulassism.
"I told them to get the kids out and everything, and me myself, being an alcoholic, I was trying to get my beer out," he said. "You feel me?"
This is the best thing I've read all day
This is the hero America needs.
But not the one it deserves.
Haha at least he admits it. Imagine him just drinking some beer, watching his house burn up.
snip, image broken
But then Walter Serpit, who walks with a cane, rushed back into the burning building to save something near and dear to him.
Misleading title. It clearly stated that he walks. [editline]26th October 2013[/editline] At least he didn't die.
This better have been damn good beer. I wouldn't risk saving warm PBRs.
This better have been damn good beer. I wouldn't risk saving warm PBRs.
Heineken is where it's at.
Heineken is where it's at.
Drink some Oberon, its made in Michigan!
Can't say I wouldn't have done the same.
True American hero. :v: My grandpa did something similar once. I was visiting him when a tornado touched down about two miles east of his house, and so what does he do? He runs out to his garage and comes back in about five minutes later holding a bag that had four bottles of whiskey he had bought the day before and his PS3.
Drink some Oberon, its made in Michigan!
I tried it once cause I live in Michigan, it's pretty damn good and I don't even like beer.
Another article says it was bud light but I have no clue where they got that from. Whatever it was, it was in cans so it can't be all that great.
This sounds like something from 'The Simpsons'.
American beer is bad.
Heineken is where it's at.
My old boss used to drink Racer 5 beer, it's a california microbrew IPA with 7% ABV. Everything else tastes like water by comparison.
A true hero.
Heineken is where it's at.
Castle beer bruv (I translated it, it's called KasteelBier) Mhm that 11% tho
American beer is bad.
But Michigan is full of dutch and german immigrants, and we are also in the 45th parallel, there is a huge surge in farmers growing hops and grapes here because theyre comparable to those coming out of nappa valley.
