I think exoskeletons be put to use on the battlefield as soon as we find efficient ways to power them. Exoskeletons would allow soldiers to carry heavier weapons. Imagine if all of the soldiers could be armed with LMGs instead of assault rifles. They could easily carry LMGs and plenty of ammo. The exoskeletons could also compensate for the LGMs recoil. Exoskeletons would also mean we could armor soldiers much better. They could be coated in metal sheets or at least more kevlar then they are now. And finally, exoskeletons would allow soldiers to carry heavier stuff like missiles when they are loading them onto jets.
yea i want to be master chef
Watched a bit too much of that Ghost Recon Future Soldier trailer huh?
A good idea in theory. Whether it will ever be in practice is a different story.

Cost.
We know, They're fucking awesome! But mass developing exoskeletons... You'd need BILLIONS... Actually you'd just need Bill Gates' wallet. [editline]12:43AM[/editline] evilwazel you god damn ninja!

I want to be an arthropod too! [editline]05:48PM[/editline] Wait, wrong kind of exoskeleton. :saddowns:
Well I think in combat the ability to move fast and be mobile is a big advantage. So I don't know if heavy armed soldiers with heavy armor fight well. But it really depends on the situation. To be honest I'm no general, just a normal guy who likes to listen to cool music.

[QUOTE=evilweazel;21864770]Cost.[/QUOTE] If it were to be fielded I doubt it'd cost anything even close to what the military spends on jet fighters and shit right now Refer to this handy diagrahm [img_thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/z142.jpg[/img_thumb]
Fuck your master chiefs and crysis guys I wanna be a motherfucking SPEHSS MAHREEN
Heard they're in the works, but I doubt they will ever become reliable enough to be used in combat scenarios. Then, if they aren't that reliable, they must be cheap enough to enable simply replacing them when dust causes them to malfunction, and I don't see that happening either. They're just gonna end up assisting with hauling, such as moving supplies and loading missiles onto aircraft.

It would get a lot less expansive once it gets past the prototype phase and into the practical use phase.
It'd take an extremely long amount of time before they're put to actual use methinks.

A car engine is basically a hunk of metal compared to the mechanical complexity of these machines. I'm pretty sure that just the delicate circuitry together with the on-board computer enabling motion feedback costs more than a car engine.
exoskeletons to increase stamina in bed? Does majority of the work for you.
In Crysis you are injected with adrenaline or other chemicals by the suit. And MS is a modified human too. So both these suits only do half the job. They don't make a simple person a supersoldier in seconds.
More like the cost a PC. [Editline]now[/editline] I mean Mac.
