You could switch between classic and remastered graphics with a button press. If 4J's Perfect Dark remake is anything to go by, this would've played great too.
I'm guessing the graphics switching was for demonstration purposes, or else it would have been in Perfect Dark XBLA as well.
Keep in mind this was already posted on FP awhile back but regardless it's still cool to see how it was. Apparently it was very close to completion as well. Shame.

I'll never understand why game releases get canceled so close to completion when there doesn't seem to be any major problems. Like shit, even if you give it no marketing budget, you might as well just throw it up silently and make a little bit of money that you spent on development back, and possibly make some fans happy in the process.

Before they changed the graphics to the N64 version, I had been waiting for them to switch to the updated graphics lol. I don't remember Goldeneye looking that bad(comparably)

Ahh, makes sense.
Nintendo owned the license, or rights or something to Goldeneye 64 IIRC and wouldn't let rare release it.
But Banjo-Kazooie and several other N64 games from Rare have been able to release on Xbox. I think the bigger issue is that Activision owns the license for James Bond video games.

I wish this would have been released. Perfect Dark re-release on XBLA was amazing.
This article says Nintendo’s copyright was the reason why this was never released http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-08-23-heres-what-the-cancelled-goldeneye-007-xbla-remaster-looked-like
I wonder if this would succeed had it been released, or if it would be balked at for it's incredibly dated gameplay and usability. The graphics aren't even that much of an improvement.
For England James??????????????????
Holy hell, the visuals are giving me Goldeneye Source vibes. Like if the devs of GS had gone and made a remake of the single player themselves. And now I really want to play Goldeneye Source again...:v: Would've been interesting to have seen this be released, but yeah. Licensing issues from both Nintendo and whatever company owns the rights to James Bond make this an impossibility.
Nostalgia blast
I remember being like 8-9 playing the vs with my uncles and dad, grown men don't like it when little kids murder em in games.
The soundtrack still gets me pumped. That metal clang noise is so iconic. Some of the original uncompressed songs were actually released. No watch theme, sadly.
It's times like this that make me really question how many great fuckin things the gaming industry had to miss out on cause of fucking legal red tape
damn I would have loved this Perfect Dark XBLA was amazing
I would love a real remaster of GoldenEye on console or PC. Not those fucking shitty "goldeneye" remakes that EA did. Frankly I'm surprised EA doesn't own the GoldenEye license, but Nintendo does at this point. Even graphics aside, the biggest thing is controls and framerate. I've been busting out my N64 recently and it's frankly difficult to just play at 12fps and with one analog stick.
