Apparently the audience wouldn't be quiet so Dave just walked off.
assholes
Obviously if you stand there in silence people are gonna heckle you. Either insult them like most comedians or ignore them.

something tells me that this one minute clip was not his whole act
This was in the description:
Comcast theatre Hartford, Connecticut Oddball comedy festival August 29th 2013.
Dave came out and told a few jokes, but it became apparent to people who knew his history with rambunctious crowds that he was not pleased with the constant "wooos" and shout outs from the crowd. I am sure there were some cases of yelling out quotes from the show but they were certainly in the minority. Dave made round about references to how it was the crowds ticket money and they were hurting themselves, but he did not make it very obvious exactly what he expected. After not telling jokes for about 10 minutes he said if someone next to you is shouting out to punch them in the kidneys. This should have been the clue to the crowd to stop yelling but being unaware of his annoyance at this behavior the woo's continued.
By not telling jokes he left more silent moments which people filled with further woos and "I love you Dave"s. At one point Dave mentioned that a lady in the front row yelled to him "There are people here who love you, talk to them." I assumed this was a turning point and the show would continue but unfortunately the crowd did not act how he wanted and he proceeded to not tell any jokes.
A real shame for those in attendance who were cooperative and who had their experience ruined by less than 1%. I don't think the majority of the crowd deserved this. They were respectful and had no control over how the idiots acted. I understand Daves frustration at shouting at his shows, but I don't think everyone else should be punished for the actions of the few.
Finally, I am well aware that it is considered grossly against comedy etiquette to post youtube recordings of sets. I would never post videos of JOKES a comedian uses because that can ruin shows for future fans that go to see a set. In this case I made an exception because 25 of the 30 minutes of Dave's time contained no jokes, and therefor this should not spoil material for future appearances.
Please note that this is only 1 minute of footage and does not convey exactly what the crowd was like. This is Dave's reaction at the end of his time, which he very purposefully wasted. I am not making a judgment call on if this was right or wrong- only expressing my disappointment in not getting to hear some material from one of the greatest comedians ever. Sorry Dave, I still think you're hilarious and brilliant.
dave's my favourite comedian why would these fuckups just go up and ruin it omg
I've never really been into stand-up, but this whole 'heckler' thing just seems bizarre. These people find enjoyment in interrupting the comedian's performance by being as loud and obnoxious as possible?
If it were any other performance art, they'd be thrown out the building.

Heckling is a big part of comedy in the UK. Sometimes the funniest thing in the entire show will be something a heckler says or how the comedian responds to it.

i think there's a difference between a shout-out like "ur a dick!", that the comedian can be witty and respond to, and hundreds of people wooping and screaming for minute after minute so that the performer can't even get a word in
not that you were implying otherwise of course, but i find it really strange that this is being classed as heckling. it's just people screaming nonsense
I love how professional comedians deal with hecklers. Even Jeff Dunham can take something completely irrelevant such as someone going to the washroom and make it hilarious and part of his gig. That's not a heckler example, but it is an example of taking something and playing through with it.

Still the best way to deal with a heckler. Especially at 4:30.
