"Not only was he relieved of his property after he was assaulted, but there were a lot of other things done to him that are disturbing to look at, and we want to bring these people to justice," Det. Monroe said. Those who've seen the video are outraged. "Oh, my god! Where's the police?" Antonio Richardson of Baltimore said after seeing the video. "It gives us a bad name, Baltimore. And people don't want to, you know, trust us to come down here." "It's surprising, but it's dangerous," another person said. "It's awful, obviously. You just have to be really careful on those days. You can't just be wandering around the streets," Diego Tapia said. Police say they've gotten leads but made no arrests. "The public is going to be helpful in this case, and they have been helpful thus far," Det. Monroe said. Those who filmed it for fun and posted it for the world to see unwittingly provided cops and prosecutors with the key evidence in this vicious attack. The victim didn't even know that such a video existed until a relative watched it online and told him. After the attack, people bragged about it on camera. Yes he was being mobbed, but if he had a gun he couldn't use it unless his life was threatened. Say he pulled out a gun. Likely the mob would disband due to not wanting to die. If anyone there also had a weapon, even just a knife, he couldn't shoot them unless he was threatened with said weapon. But maybe the law is different in Baltimore. Here you can't use more force against an assailant than they are against you, unless your or someone elses life is in immediate danger.

No, he's not a bystander he's an accomplice as he was in a position to do something and chose not to, that's negligence. But the crowd? The actual people who were just hanging around? Which isn't very doubtable, as he was a white man being attacked by decent amount of black people. As for the whole bystander thing, I have a feeling that it isn't relevant due to the fact that in the video you see that most of the people are interacting with those who are assaulting him. On top of that, they sing together while mocking him.

This is as despicable no matter if the victim's white and the perpetrator's black, if the victim was white and the perpetrators were white too, or if the victim was black and the perpetrators were black too this doesn't stop being any less of a hideous criminal act.

I blame whoever that guy was drinking with. You don't let your buddy wander off when he's that wasted AND in that dangerous of an area. If he was drinking alone on St Pat's Day then all I can say is "WTF is wrong with you?!?!"
