Uh, dumbass, think about the scope of this attack. Sony has to restructure their entire network right back down to the basics, not just security.
Finally.
I've been waiting for a chance to create and publish LBP2 levels again.
Not hating on the ps3 here, but wow, I'm sure glad I never bought one. This has just been terrible.
probably going to get a ps3 sooner or later, but definitely going to be careful with the information I give PSN, probably a load of fake stuff
1 month and about 2 weeks offline? Wow.
Really, all this personal data/credit info being compromised could've been easily prevented by keeping sensitive data stored locally on the consumer's PS3, rather than on a giant online network. People generally don't expect a giant like Sony to get hit with this, but when the alternative option means having to steal a physical console in order to get that data?
I mean this is a massive blow not only to Sony, but to its users and business partners as well, but, y'know. _ :v: _ People re-enter credit/personal details in online stores all the time, at least by having it stored in the console, the consumer wouldn't have to rely on the security of a large system infrastructure in order to keep that data safe.
By the way this is when all of PSN will be restored. I'm sure other things will be up much earlier like online play.
They can't restore the damage that is caused. I hope the PS3 dies so the next generation consoles can be released
didn't know it was still down, wow
I think this means Uncharted 3 Beta for everyone!
Well, I guess ps3 gamers are going to get more pissed off then they already are because of this.
I am a ps3 gamer, and I am ok with this. All of the best ps3 exclusives are singleplayer anyways. If I want my multiplayer fix I look to the PC. And I have plenty of games I need to beat that will take more than to the end of may.
since when did Sony time become Valve time?

Never, sony needs this much time minimum to fix it, valve needs that much time because they want to produce a quality game.
As long as they've fixed this exploit, and put tighter security measures on their files AND make sure this never happens again in the future, I wouldn't mind it at all.
It's good to hear they're rebuilding everything from the ground up.
Imagine the truckloads of money they're losing...
I didn't use the Playstation Notwork anyway. Actually, I didn't use my PS3 at all. Barely any worthwhile games lately.
