• WTF Is... Scrolls

Posting this because whenever Scrolls comes up in discussion it's mostly rumors and assumptions people use as arguments, hopefully this will clear it up. Please try not to start a Notch/TB flame-war in the thread.
Looks alright gameplay-wise, for a card game. Don't like the fact there's premium credit in the game at all. By the looks of it a lot of random people would disconnect before the round ends.
WTF is scrolls is exactly what I thought when I saw it's awful gameplay.
Personally I'm quite happy with how it's turning out, feels like a less pay-to-win version of MTG that makes use of the benefits a video game brings as well. Also quite impressed with the artwork and animation(the huge amount of units considered that is) Of course if you're not the kind of person who can enjoy slow-moving, tactical games you're not going to enjoy it, but I can see this becoming a competitor to Magic the Gathering Online if Mojang play their cards right.(no pun intended)
I'm interested in what people have to say about the game now they've seen this video, because when I posted the original launch trailer a while back the feedback was almost entirely negative.
This looks really good! I'm probably going to buy it

However it's a Mojang game which means it'll be unnecessarily hated on regardless of how good or bad it is strictly because of Minecraft.

I was one of those negative people but this looks nice. I'd love to have it on my phone or a tablet.

It looks better than i thought it would to be honest. I think i'd enjoy it.

I agree with the positive comments though, it looks like fun.
is the game actually completely finished this time around?
I think people were overly negative because they thought Notch was developing it, but Notch isn't even actively developing this as far as I know, Jakob Porsér is.
Wait, if he doesn't work on minecraft and he didn't work on this, what does he do?

looks neat, not my type of game though
I'm not big into TCG's but this actually looks like a lot of fun.
It looks really well polished, are we sure Notch made it he got Jeb to do it didn't he
It looks really well polished, are we sure Notch made it he got Jeb to do it didn't he
I'm pretty sure Notch had very little involvement, if any. He's been focused on that terribly named space game. Also the game's not coded in Java, and so far there's nothing that would suggest that he knows any other programming language so he's likely be useless. Jeb's probably not very heavily involved either. He's pretty much a slave to Minecraft at the moment.
You know, you guys are huge dicks to Notch. Imagine if you were to say this kind of shit about some dude that isn't famous. Everyone would just call you huge dicks.
This game looks really good if you like the genre. The only problem is that everyone who knows about Mojang does so through Minecraft, meaning the appropriate audience may be hard to fine. Minecraft players may not like this game. Hopefully the marketing will be good enough to attract card game players.
Looks interesting, but not the most exciting thing ever, but then I guess it's aimed more at people who prefer turn-based strategy games. Isn't TB short for some disease in the UK anyway? :V
The guy opened a studio for a reason, you know. Right now he's just taking advantage of the fact that he's the money-man to finance projects like these.

This looks terrible, the idea is terrible and i would not play this even if i got it for free.
Wow they got a pretty nice artist. Wish the scrolls had that parallax 3d image effect or was animated in some way.
looks kinda fun actually. i'm surprised
