I don't see how it's pointless at all. I can think of many uses for it, this one is a pretty good example, you can chose whether you want to focus on just the food or more on the guy two, I can see it being useful for stuff like concerts or live performances where you can for example switch between seeing the crowd or the performance or stuff like that. This can solve a lot of problems with any kind of instructional videos, where you'd often end up being annoyed that the camera isn't showing the stuff you need to see, this totally fixes that.
