Watched the video and looked at that imgur album. Now I'm reading through that long-ass blog post linked in the description. I guess because I'm curious about the proof of all this fucking around, since making accusations without proof was a big basis of the video.
But holy shit I had no idea what a clusterfuck was going on with this woman. I glanced over the other thread just thinking "wow, so some unknown indie developer cheated on her boyfriend a lot, who cares." But it just gets more and more horrifying the deeper you read.
If anyone takes away anything from this I think it should be that the majority of gaming journalism sites are definitely NOT professional publications. They do not have the consumers best interest at heart. They exist only to push their own agenda and make phat stacks of ad revenue with clickbait bullshit stories.

Game journalism was dead when game devs started paying for good reviews. The only media I trust to truthfully show new releases is shit like TB's "WTF is" and Giantbomb quick looks. Not many forceful opinions, mainly example gameplay that you can use to work out if a game is for you or not.

I think it'd be kickass if we put something together again that is just a straight up gaming journalism site. We talk about video games, we dont try and hide away bullshit for a profit and we don't try and push a message beyond "the games industry doesn't need to be a soap opera, help us fix it".
If anyone on the site started covering shit up or pushing some kind of social activist opinion, they'd just be kicked off, end of story. You can have your cute little tumblr blogs for the bitching about misogyny in video games, that shit's already brought the gaming journalism field to its knees.

To be honest, if you did that you'd just be another gaming journalism website. And because you'd be writing sensible and wordy articles, nobody would read them. So you either shut down from lack of funding or make clickbait articles to grab people's attention and be contributing to the problem.
Not trying to shit on your dream, but it's the reality. Gaming journalism is the way it is because people eat it up.
