did he live?
escalating the situation and punching an officer in the face is not a good idea but shooting and killing him was not an appropriate response. both parties are at fault. im curious as to what the reason for the arrest was, though. [editline]asd[/editline] was not aware he was extremely drunk, officers actions were justified.
Reports say the officer had a smashed face and was drifting in and out of consciousness by the time he got to the hospital. Everything the officer did was entirely justified.
The firefighter's BAC was 2.21%. The legal limit is .08%. Take that into account before judging this officer's actions. I think the shooting was just, given the position he was in and the fact that the firefighter could easily have killed him, intentionally or otherwise.
The firefighter's BAC was 2.21%
im sorry what
im sorry what
blood alcohol content limit
im sorry what
This was according to this video: I'm not invested in this story enough to seek out better known sources but I'm sure they're out there unless these guys just made this shit up in which case, forgive me.
no i was confused how you could have a BAC of 2.21% isnt the lethal like 0.5 or something
blood alcohol content limit
You typically, I dunno, DIE at 0.40%+, so how the fuck was it that high? The dude was half way to bleeding beer.
blood alcohol content limit
I think he's saying that because 2.21 is insanely high.
It was 0.21%, probably just a typo.
Yeah, a firefighter is definitely going to have the muscle to back those punches up.
Its .221 not 2.21. >.29 is considered lethal. 0.4 your body shuts down
fuck that's terrible, justified though
Its .221 not 2.21. >.29 is considered lethal. 0.4 your body shuts down
the reporter was an idiot and said 2.21 should we sue him
Some people understimate how much damage a punch to the head can do, let alone repeated ones. Life aint street fighter kids. He could have been killed, so this was justified imo.
And this is why 40 cops show up to every call. Also cause most cops are bored.
that guy recording [editline]1st March 2014[/editline] just shut the fuck up
I think the worst part about this case is that the bystanders could have helped the officer out and made the arrest but insteadthey chose the stand by and do absolutely nothing. if one person would have helped the police officer the firefighters life could have possibly been saved.

I don't have faith that anybody would help. (obviously they didn't in this case.) It would be nice to hear a story of a spectator with a camera dropping the damn camera and making a positive impact in moments like this.
that guy recording [editline]1st March 2014[/editline] just shut the fuck up
Even better is his interview in the news clip, claiming the officer used lethal force to get out of a situation he shouldn't of been in, ya know, not preforming an arrest or something.
escalating the situation and punching an officer in the face is not a good idea but shooting and killing him was not an appropriate response.
Actually it is the appropriate response. The officer was in danger and is trained that if a situation ever requires him to pull out his gun, to shoot to kill. This guy was clearly resisting arrest and then went on to assault the officer for reasons that are not clear. However this officer did the right thing.
Cop is totally in the right. Resisting arrest is one thing. Wrestling with the cop is another. Punching the cop in the face is on a whole different level.
Yeah, the cop acted accordingly. I feel bad for the firefighter, too, tho. Dude was DEAD drunk (according to someone who posted here. Firefighters wife says otherwise.) Probably barely aware of his own actions, I can't say he deserved it, but I can't say the cop was unjustified. Shit happens.

Regardless of drunk, you don't just shoot a guy. The other officer could have stepped in an helped other than stay back an shoot. an no offense that seemed like he was just eager to shoot him, in all honesty. This is crap how it was handled.

You're really underestimating the strength of a man with that much alcohol in his system, especially someone as strong as a firefighter.
When you're being punched in the face by a trained Firefighter you do not have the time to pull out your taser.
His buddy could have stepped in to help restrained the man instead of holding a gun on him. (Just trying to be friendly about not always solving things with a gun.) I lol'd. Im just trying to say, there could have been a better way than sitting there aiming a gun at the guy while they wrestled it out. But thank you for taking the wrong way to show how much you are a asshole. Just look at it like this without loosing a few brain cells in your head. Most cenario's can be done a good way an poor way or just wrong, this one was just wrong, They could have tried to restrain him together instead of having one guy restrain and the other guy aim a gun down at him.
