I lost it at "adopt a child with the new adoption system"
and then they put a 20€ price tag on it
Yeah, this can't be real.
It's definitely official.
Is this a joke?

PS3 hast even got dawnguard yet.
This is cool and all but it would have been much better if they actually let your house have some kind of impact on the world, and let you actually choose what style of house you want it to be (from evil lair, to wizards keep, to a cabin, etc)
Instead it's just a glorified house mod, done in a style that would be appealing only to the girl-gamer "keep a look after your family" type RP'ers
So they're releasing more of the game jam stuff polished up as DLC. I want the seasonal foilage and flowing water :v:
Its real, it was leaked a few weeks back and everyone pulled it apart because it rips off "build your own home" mod.
At least it's only 400 MS points (aka $5), which isn't too bad considering what it is. I was expecting it to be more.
Would have been better tho if Hearthfire was actually a sweet expansion type thing instead of a cheap throw-away house mod for the ladies out there who want to take care of a family.
pay $10 for a mod cool where can I sign up

isn't 400 ms points $10 ?

To be fair they had a build-your-own-home working before the mod even existed, seeing as game-jam had it in, and gamejam was before even the game launched.

No it's $5
800MS points = $10
1200 = $15
1600 (dawnguard) = $20
It seems so fake yet it's on the official channel. Who would pay money for this anyway?

So they're basically selling game jam content they said would be free. Stayed tuned for fucking, spears DLC.

I know, I tried to structure that post in a sarcastic way but it doesn't really translate well to text.
It was just dumb how they complained how it ripped off when it actually didn't.

$20 Horse armour DLC.
I have to admit, that ox at 1:05 slowly looking at the player was kind of adorable. But those are in the game already, so fuck it.
And where's the skeletal chefs?

Seasonlance! The newest Skyrim DLC. Experience seasons in Skyrim, such as Flowery and Snowy, Snowy, Leafy and Snowy, and Really Really Snowy. Also, one new weapon type, spears! 10$.

No. They said at game jam that the content seen in the video may be seen later in the game as updates, or DLC. We already got things like mounted horse combat for free. Stop getting angry because they're adding things, this isn't a case of "ARARAR IT SHOULD ALREADY HAVE BEEN IN THE GAME ADNSAGJALDFG", this is content they made within a week after the game went gold and decided to polish some of it up and release it. You got your finished game, this is just extra.
When it said servants and the guy was black I had my doubts.
so it's the sims. wtf
Would be fantastic if it wasn't mod-level content for a fee. Seriously, they already made fucktons of money off of the game, they don't need 5 dollars for something like this.
I wonder if they allow gay couples to adopt. I assume yes because they nonchalantly added gay marriage.
Needs more argonian children.
I for one will be adopting all the children and making my servants Redguards because I can.

Except they're idiots, it was featured when Bethesda released that whole 1 week jam video where their developers modded the game however they decided. There was a whole section of that video where one developer had allowed you to make a house of your choosing, just like with the vampire transformation that was used for Dawn-guard they clearly also adapted this part of the jam for Hearthfire.
Meh I'm kinda late, oh well.

They said that some game-jam content (the major stuff) would likely be put in as DLC, while others would be free updates
They've been pretty truthful with that so far you know. Horse combat and magic/arrow finishers are both from game jam and we've gotten them as free updates. This mod and Dawnguard have also had content in Game-jam, and they are done in DLC format
New child adoption system!
"Hey you, kid who I just met on the street, wanna be adopted by me?"
"Sure :=)"
i seriously can't believe this is an actual expansion. i thought it was a joke, specially with that narrator and music.

Despite what beth said about them wanting to make all their DLC's more major additions compaired to fallout, Hearthfire isn't an "expansion" and isn't priced as one. It's simply put an elaborate house DLC and nothing more.

but that makes me wonder the validity of their "we want to make proper big DLCs", or whether they've decided to change direction
if they're making stuff like this, which has clearly had a bit more thought put into it than "let's sell them a house", why don't they wait and make this just an addition to a much bigger DLC or expansion? i'd happily take this as part of a much larger improvement to the game with more quests n stuff but if i wanted a shit version of the sims i'd go and buy it - this DLC is not going to sell to their usual rpg fanbase
this is good for xbox users as they can't use mods
