Quick question about homecoming - General

I didn't ask this in fast threads cause I'd get OIFY shit. Anyway, I'm a senior, and I'm going to my first homecoming tonight(yeah I'm a shy kid, fuck off). I also won homecoming king last night, what I'm wondering is do the kings bring their crowns? Some people tell me to bring it just to be a pompous cunt, others tell me to bring it for pictures that might be taken, and the rest of them say we don't know. I don't want to come off as a douche to the people who voted for me, but I also don't want to ruin any potential pictures that may get ruined because of me being underdressed(pretty much the crown, the other guys are wearing their tuxes, they're tools). So you socialite FPers, have you seen the kings wearing crowns or not? D;

Well yeah, anywhere, but I figured the ones with social lives don't frequent OIFY much and I'd have a better shot here.

I'm no American, but how can you become 'homecoming king' if you've never been to one before? What even is homecoming? Is it just a school party, or what?
