Dragon Rising was a meh game.
Looks like it's going to be decent, didn't like Dragon Rising as much as Cold War Crisis & Armed Assault but it was still fun albeit disappointing
The title cut off as "An Operation Flashpoint Red...", I was expecting some sort of article about the old Red Hammer campaign from the GOTY edition of the original Operation Flashpoint. I was severely disappointed by Codemaster's awful title-stealing failure.
Oh god, this game better not have shitty color palettes... And they better not do that thing where they sell us half the game, and force us to download the rest.
So that was that song in the dawn of the dead remake
Hopefully, they won't be using the same engine they used in Dragon Rising for this.
Dragon Rising was pitiful. Maybe they'll make this a bit better.
Yup. Hope its not gonna be a racing game with FPS elements like Dragon Rising...
Red River, Red River send the original OFP right over.
That analysis of the soundtrack was pretty awesome.
Codemasters is a good company, I hope they can step up the quality of this game way past Dragon Rising's.
Seems like it's gonna use GfwLive :v:
I just wish this game would compete with ARMA2, at first I expected it to be a realistic war-game then I was disappointed due to very arcade-ish gameplay. If they just decided on making this a realism/war-simulator they could beat ARMA2.
DR was a fun game but the vehicle handling was awful.
DR was a fun game but the vehicle handling was awful.
Well, it was fun, but the campaign was short, multiplayer was always dead, and the editor wasn't very complex.

Another Codemasters "sequel" riding on the good name of a game they didn't make. Yawn.

After stealing Bohemia's IP, they just want to make a generic military-style shooting game that is "different" because of its touted "realism".
TOTALLY not an ArmA2 wannabe and an Operation Arrowhead rip off!!!!
I was expecting gameplay.
If Codemasters could create a realistic sandbox-based tactical shooter with an engine that will perform well on most modern systems(dual core processors are still the standard man) with a decent map editor and a multiplayer component that doesn't require having to search up SVNs for mods and the hundreds of mod updates/variations just to get on the server and finally play, it would be absolutely amazing. Get on it Codemasters, but I doubt you guys can do anything right except racing games...
Are they attempting to copy Operation Arrowhead? Even the location's name sounds similar.
guys you're absolutely wrong when it comes to this game trying to copy arma consider the fact that maps can only have like fucking 63 entities and you can hardly even edit the game
Tajikistan? Yeah, not at all like Takistan. Fuck this shit Codemasters ran OFP into the ground.
Tajikistan? Yeah, not at all like Takistan. Fuck this shit Codemasters ran OFP into the ground.
They didn't even try to think up a new name, they just added an extra I and J :|
The first OFP trilogy was brilliant. Cold war, Red sicle ( or whatever the russian expansion was ) and Resistance. It just saddens me to see codemasters like this :frown:
The people that made ArmA made the first OFP, Dragon Rising is made by a new team.
Arma 1 is basicly OPF1 with nicer graphics.
For those who aren't aware: OFP:CWC, OFP:RH and OFP:R were all made by Bohemia Interactive studios and published by Codemasters. Then they both fell out. The problem is that the game design was intellectual property of BIS, but the name 'Operation Flashpoint' was owned by Codemasters. So BIS went off to make a new and improved OFP under a new name, thus producing ArmA and ArmA II, whilst Codemasters decided to ride on the back of the success that they had no part in creating and made their own game under the Operation Flashpoint name.
Tajikistan? Yeah, not at all like Takistan.
Hey everybody, Tajikistan is a real country, and probably where BI got the name for Takistan. Really, you guys need to brush up on your geography.
