I'm 6'4" and 250 lbs. However, a good amount of that weight is fat. I'm looking for a good idea of what to do for exercise and what I should be eating. I want to tone the fat down while increasing my muscle mass, but I'm not really looking to pack on the muscle.
I have the local YMCA at my disposal. It's only a few minutes to walk there. I've also decided to cut out the soda and fast food that I consume all too often. What else should be done?
Lift heavy shit, eat lots of protein, eat less calories than you need to maintain the fat.
Hmm, I would eat fruits mostly, Banana for one, good source of potassium for energy. Protein wise, salmon or fresh chicken, nothing microwave or frozen food. I don't really use protein bars or drinks personally. Just regular food base.
Since you already have fat build up, that's a good start to tone into muscle mass. Eat at a regular bases. Only what you need to eat and nothing more.
Have a plan on what routine your going to be doing at the gym, and how long, one to two hours every weeks is a good start.
Start off smaller weights, if this is your first time. Personally don't over push it, and bring water.
I would switch off and do differently each day, don't do the same thing over and over. Hope this helps.
Eat less than you need and there's nothing wrong with microwaved food as long as it's healthy.
I basically live off of the dyson chicken that you can throw in the microwave. Put a bit of ketchup on it. Fucking delish.
Get a good workout routine. Do cardio a few times a week. Eat a healthy, high protein diet. If your doin it right, you should see results fairly quickly.

Aren't fruits good way to lose weight to begin with, not to mention energy as well for working out. Better than eating unhealthy sweets.

Haha, ok
He's just starting, can't expect someone who just started to go intense training right off the bat. Learn where your limits are and work up from there, even further.

Lol I hate to say it, but literally the best fat loss diet or rather diet strategy I have found is Paleo type eating.
Basically I ate nothing but eggs, red meat, fish , green vegetables and fruit for 3 weeks and lost Bf like a motherfucker.
But I have my suspicions it's less to do with "how we were meant to eat" and more to do with a mercenary way of reducing calories.

so you ate keto and were suprised by water weight loss and moderate ammounts of fat loss ? let me guess ~20 lbs in 3 weeks. also paleo is like a religion it seriously has no scientific basis

to begin with i would reccomend a deficit of ~1000 calories depending on the person not fruits, unless hes a woman then then by all means become skin and bones , i find it attractive :3
Bro wasn't anywhere near a state of ketosis.
And yes as I said, I still think it was just a really easy way of cutting out calories without even thinking about it.

im p sure keto can be reached by eating under 100g carbs ( not 100% tho) soooo

Yes :3
But i didn't mean to just eat entirely fruits, I meant along with it, for the energy. Of course needing protein is important along with it.
