I loved Anno 1404 even though I never really could supply enough Shirts to my slave... Citizens. It's most certainly different then Anno 1404 but I might try it out and start playing it.
1602 is still the best
Eh, I don't think I like the idea of them taking it into the future.
I was hoping for one in modern times like now but this is better in my opinion.
Always been a fan of city building games in the future Hopefully this'll be good
Hah, neat idea. I enjoyed 1404.
Looks interesting, I like the approach they're doing with the whole "Fuck up the planet in exchange for more resources" they have going on. It'll make the player think about the long-term consequences of any action they do.
Really looking forward to it.
I absolutely love Anno 1404, even though I haven't finished one match yet :v: Must get this. [editline]asdasd[/editline] When Chunky says something is amazing, it must be good.
Looks fucking amazing.
Oh this is gun b sex.
The screens look fucking fantastic.
I tried 1701, liked it somewhat. Then I got a new comp and it didn't work.
Anno 1602 is the shit
As soon as I read "Not When You Were Expecting", "ANNO IN SPACE!" Rang out in my head, close enough :v:
[QUOTE=Canary;28984284]I was hoping for one in modern times like now but this is better in my opinion.[/QUOTE] I was hoping for it too but this is a bit too far in my opinion. I wanted it because of new transport types (planes, cars and trains additionally to ships) and more variety when it comes to the look of buildings. This one may have a nice art style but it lacks visual variety. It's hard for me to tell one building from another. It looks more like a total conversion. I hope the gameplay will be a bit different as well. I guess I still have to wait for a mixture of Transport Tycoon, Anno, Sim City and Command and Conquer.
For North Americaners, this is Dawn of Discovery 2070 :v:
All 1404 needed was a better combat/military system and it would have been the best game ever. Thanks Ubisoft.

I'm glad they are changing it up. It's good to keep the series fresh with all the core mechanics still in place. Can't wait.
i remember how good anno 1602 was, i played the shit out of it in LAN
[QUOTE=chunkymonkey;28989658]A modern times one who have been bland as fuck. We have enough of those.[/QUOTE] Name one. I can't remember of a game with a modern setting where you can control industries, transportation, citizens and the military.

You seriously can't name one? Ok, here's one: Sim City 4 [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] Tropico 1 & 3 are another two games with 3 being the best example.
City builders =/= Anno gameplay. But yeah, you're right, Tropico comes close. Anyway, I'm still waiting for such a game in a bigger scale which means building cities like in Sim City, create transport lines like in Transport Tyccon and fight with simple RTS controls like in Command and Conquer. I never managed to win a war in Anno. Especially not in 1404. I have no clue how to beat the enemy in the endless game I'm still playing ... not with those controls.
Loved 1404. Have to say, at first I was extremely excited that a new Anno was coming, then when I saw 2070 I went "Eeeh", then I saw the images and got very excited again. Also love that we get the hippies and the industrials as factions, damn treehuggers are going to fuel my industry. [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] Can't say I wouldn't have preferred some other setting though. Maybe during some medieval or pre-medieval period in Asia?

I wish I could buy Anno 1404 on steam, but they stopped selling it at the moment.
