Cool to see them doing this.
When he's better in smash than in his own games
To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft tries to sell off the Rareware IPs in the near future.
I hope Nintendo updates Smash with them
holy shit

Let's hope it's some time after Project Ukulele releases

Do they still own Perfect Dark? Wouldn't mind seeing a revival of that.
quick, battletoads for Smash Bros

yeah, with no new timesplitters ever in sight, we haven't had any fpses quite like that in far too long
I'm surprised he gave a straight, intelligible answer
Ok now its time to spam Banjo into Smash and then maybe Banjo can be saved!
As much as I want him in I just can't see Nintendo putting him in. It's too good to be true.
Suddenly Fulgore appears in Smash.
One can only dream.
hah, i can imagine them replacing duck hunt or being a "semi-clone" of duck hunt

eh license them but microsoft knows to squeeze blood from the IP rock
Do they still own Perfect Dark? Wouldn't mind seeing a revival of that.
Only if its torn from Microsoft's bony grasp, leaving the company screaming at its bloody stumps, and given to a development studio that won't fuck it up.
The first part is optional, of course, so long as the devs wouldn't fuck it up by remaking it with many of the much-maligned ill-fitting mechanics of spunkgargleweewee.
I wish I knew earlier.
Now if only Nintendo could get Banjo Kazooie's IP
Conker for Smash
Do they still own Perfect Dark? Wouldn't mind seeing a revival of that.
Of the Rare IPs besides Banjo and Conker, Microsoft most notably owns Perfect Dark, Battletoads (which they still haven't bothered to either release or make use of), Killer Instinct and Jet Force Gemini.
I am not sure what the status of Jetpac is because while it was made by Rare, Nintendo was able to keep it in Donkey Kong 64's re-release.
(Not sure if you know, by the way, but Perfect Dark did get prequal on the Xbox 360 called Perfect Dark Zero)
His final smash will probably just be an Xbox One commercial.

His final smash will be a tutorial on car parts.

Mighty Poo for Smash
just a fyi, Microsoft has a good relationship with nintendo, making games on the DS and GBA
Microsoft-owned Rare even made a few Donkey kong games.

I dunno. It's a really common thing amongst gamers to think that "EVERYTHING EVER WOULD BE THE ABSOLUTE BEST" but I'm personally a fan of restrictions. I don't think it would be cool to have Smash have every character possible in it. I'd take a really small roster of characters who get a lot of love and attention to their mechanics than a MUGEN-esque cluster fuck of characters.
This also reminds me of people being like "Omg, master chief in Smash would be so amazing O_O" like little kids who know nothing about business or video games would say.

Maybe that's the "worked with Nintendo on Rare IPs before" part?
Though he could be talking about how Rare developed/released Star Fox Adventures and the GBA ports of Donkey Kong Country and even a DS game or two I can't recall while under the ownership of Microsoft.

While that is true, keep in mind they only let Rare do that (it was, in fact, Rare's idea and not Nintendo or Microsoft's IIRC) because Microsoft does not compete in the handheld market.

Bungie was even planning a DS Halo game.
When the smash vote came out I voted for Banjo with the reason "There is a bird in his backpack", and now this news. Looks like Nintendo took my suggestion to heart. You guys can thank me once Banjo is in the game.
Man, only getting one vote sucks.
Choosing between B.K. and Snake is a hard decision.
I voted for Bisharp, one of the best Gen 5 pokemon

Was that even true though? All I remember was IGN having a Goldeneye mod on the DS which was essentially that with a Halo Skin
