Source? [editline]12:40PM[/editline] Never mind, found it in tiny writing.
A screw-up in EA's Warhammer Online billing system has resulted in many players being charged upwards of 22 times for a one-month subscription, filling bank accounts with overdraft fees and the Warhammer forums with very angry players. A Warhammer Online forum thread named 'Billing Error' has been filling with reports from customers who were surprised yesterday when their normal monthly fee for playing the EA MMO was multiplied anywhere from 12 to 22 times. That's upwards of $329.78 for one month of Warhammer Online.

EA is aware of the issue, addressing it in a post on the Warhammer Online Herald, following it with this hopeful bit of news:
We have confirmed with our vendor that players who have been charged multiple times for their subscriptions should start seeing a reversal of charges within 24-36 hours. We anticipate that once the charges have been reversed, any fees that have been incurred should be refunded as well.

It's great that the charges are being reversed, but the damage is already done. Players are finding themselves with empty bank accounts, overdraft charges are piling up, and the notion that reversing the charges will clear any bank fees is a fanciful one at best. My bank doesn't play that way. I've had similar situations arise in the past, and I've needed to fight tooth and nail to get my money back.
To assist us in providing the best possible service please contact your financial institution prior to contacting EA Billing Support as we can only assist with resolving additional fees after you have been reimbursed.

This is going to be an extremely busy week for EA billing support, and I'd daresay EA's lawyers will be getting a workout as well. Suddenly pre-paid time cards are looking extremely attractive. Thanks to Matthew for bringing this issue to our attention.
Source?
Look in the bottom of the quote.
the 888,888.00 number reminds me of the guy a week ago that 90 billion in his bank account
Warhammer Online, eh? My brother used to play that. I still have the case and his username.
Mine was save as it's been deactivated since... 09.
Damn I'd be pissed if I looked at my account and saw that.
Mine was save as it's been deactivated since... 09.
Some cancelled / deactivated accounts were billed too.
That is one hell of a fucking billing error.
"Error"

Wow, if this happened to me.. PERFECT FUCKING TIME FOR A HUGE ASS LAWSUIT.
Some cancelled / deactivated accounts were billed too.
Oh shi- brb gotta dig out my old account! ( checked and it was safe thank god! ) On a side note i haven't heard from my friend for like the past few days, and he only quit the game two weeks ago, best call round to see if he hasn't hung himself.
I had to check my account also, I had only stop playing it a few months before, Better safe than sorry.
Happened to me. Reminds me, I need to e-mail them. My parents aren't pleased... I put it on their card for the time being since I didn't have money on mine.
Mythic better issue a full refund + whatever people's overdraft charges are or they're going to have a giant fucking class-action suit on their ass
lol OOPS!
Mythic better issue a full refund + whatever people's overdraft charges are or they're going to have a giant fucking class-action suit on their ass
I quite like the idea, we can get Jack Thompson in as our lawyer. "These companies are defrauding people maliciously!"
I'm reading through the thread, it's great. Seeing a company get reamed up the ass like this is fantastic [editline]05:14AM[/editline] This guy got charged 52 times, over $2000.
They feel like they were cheated when we exploited EA's download manager, they had to get back their lost money somehow! Because as you know, if you have a digital copy of something you never intended to buy, they lost a sale

This "fuck up" probably isn't a fuck up. They are leeching off peoples cred cards while they can since the yare going bankrupt/shutting down in a week.
gj bringing up something that has nothing to do with the thread
They both have EA as the common denominator
